Default C4 Headliner

I recently picked up a used fiberglass Targa top that will need some rework, well I have the headliner out I was thinking off replacing it with a quilted diamond
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vinyl-Uphol...53.m1438.l2649
was wondering if I could just glue it to the factory headliner backing and then fold it over around the edges or any other recommendations, Thanks In Advance.

Sounds like that would work as long as when you wrap it over the edges it stays put and it is not too thick.

I think it may be to thick, I have some cardboard sheets that I can cut out using the original padding from the head liner as a template,
I may try that instead.

From what I remember GM attaches the headliner using strips of Velcro. You could become inventive and bond on areas that can allow you to fasten it on but you would see the buttons caps that would hide the screw heads.

When I removed the headliner there was no Velcro on this one, it was clued on. I also thought that it would be some type of cardboard that the fabric
attaches to but this is some type of fiberglass mat with what seems like a thin molded rubber on the side that the fabric attaches to.

Finally got around to trying my hand at a headliner not perfect but not bad for first time I think. I havent attached it yet deciding if I want to glue or Velcro.
