Replacing the lens on my roof. Ebay 330$
I just bought a new plexiglass lens for my top and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions..Mine is a 84 and I have some knowledge with auto glass since that is what I do for a living..But there is always something I might not be aware of since Ive never done one of these before...Any knowledge or insight would be great!!! Supposedly they'
re going to email me a video with instructions but I'm sure there is more to know than what the video explains...Should I use a wire to remove the old lens or should I use my auto glass extractor?? And Is there a tried and true method to get the urethane to stick to the plexiglass? Ive heard the kits they send you are not so good...Thanks

That went well....Now we wait for fedex...hopefully tomorrow..Its sitting 30 miles away in ocala for the past 2 days at the fedex place...Should have just ran and got it lol

I would contact 3M and talk with them and see if they can get onto your thread so they can see what you are doing.
I DO KNOW that not all urethanes are the same in regards to the chemical make up of them. Or at least that was my impression the last time I recently talked with 3M about an issue that needed a urethane for a specific type of job. I was advised to use the 8609 specifically and a primer for it also. The primer for it was a 8682. And I was bonding rubber gasket to glass and the rubber gasket to steel.
