Default Great Tune by Ed Hutchings

Ed Hutchings - Tuner Extraordinaire

Dyno Day at Ed Hutchings’ (edcmat-l1), Chesapeake, VA.

I pulled 20 rhwp less than my exit dyno for my H/C package - the Dyno? Ed said my injectors were @ 98% duty cycle. I needed to go to 38 lb but I opted for 42 ponders. He installed new 42lb injectors and tuned for about 3 hours. It pulled 462/414; +12HP and +13 Tq. But the greatest difference was drivability.

Previously the car drove rough on take off. It bucked, stumbled, or stalled. I attributed that to the HD Clutch. It was like an “On-Off” switch. After Ed’s tune there were no more difficulties on launching. It felt like a totally different car. Drivability improved 200%. I asked him what he did and he replied that he totally redid the “VE” and “Air Flow” tables. I don’t fully understand what they are, but I’d never take my car to another tuner.

Ed is da Man

38lbs is what I needed to keep 80% duty cycle. I opted for the 42s to cover any other perf mods.

Default Where is Ed

Ed tuned my 1980 after I installed the FI on it and he did an excellent job. He advised I switch to a Mini Ram intake for a big HP increase. Well now I have the intake but I don't have Ed's contact info since he left Virginia Speed. Do you know how to reach him. I'm thinking about flashing the bat signal in the sky. - Thanks
