Default Power Limits of C5 Z06 Ti Exhaust??

I am curious as to how much power is too much power with an unmodded C5 Z06 Ti exhaust.

I have a '97 C5 with an A&A Kit, LG Full Length Headers, LG Mid Pipe w/ High Flow Cats.

The Ti exhaust sounds perfect for me. Little throaty when you get on it and otherwise very civilized. I just dont know whether it is costing me a ton of power or not.

How much have you guys made power wise and what kind of time slips with this exhaust?

Thank you in advance!!

Matt

Tony Mamo did some testing a few years back. With his setup, 475 hp, he found the difference to be 5 hp between the Ti and open cutouts if I remember correctly.

Yeah I dumped the Ti for Stingers just so I could make some noise. It runs so quiet from the turbos. When I got Stingers, I gained 100rwhp from 550rwhp to 650rwhp. The lower backpressure from Stinger straight thru design caused the wastegate spring to react different, and resulted in 3psi gain in boost. Then instead of detuning the WG, I added meth.

On my 403 the cutouts were worth about 12RWHP over running through the Ti's. On the 427 is was more. I recently changed out to LG's Big 3 catback. It's a true 3 inches all the way. Independent testing showed negligable difference between cutouts and the Big 3.

I love the stock Ti exhaust, quiet when cruising and a nice roar when on the go pedal!

Maybe I will have some electric cutouts installed. I bet that would be good for the track and then I could close em up for local cruising.

Supercharged cars don't seem to care as much about the exhaust as a NA car. Even on mine I wonder how much I'd loose if I acquired a stock exhaust. I love my PRTs however the car is a bit loud at times...

LG's website has back to back dyno runs of the big 3 cat-back system.

Nice gains, very civilized sound, nightmare of installation.

Thanks for sharing that guys!! That may just be the way to go.

Were the DMH cutouts tough to install?

Guys commenting on the extra power from stingers and cutouts are you talking headers, 3" mid-x-pipe going into the stock 2.5" system going over the axles then with cutouts or stingers or do you need to be 3" over the axles too to gain those extra ponies?

Could you give us more details please? That seems like a large
loss on a stock dispacement supercharged engine compared to
other posts. What are your mods and how similar were the conditions
between the 2 pulls? Same dyno? Any other changes other than
exhaust?
I have the stingers now and I am getting ready to put a set of
titaniums on but that is a chunk of whp to lose. I have a stock
diplacement procharged set-up making 708whp through the stingers.
Thanks
Wayne
