Default New BEST MPH's 1/8mi and 1/4mph 135.76mph!!!

Well after getting stood up for picking up a set of stock wheels for the car at the last second I decided to go to Cecil County dragway to run the car to just relieve some stress.
At tech in they let me know they kicked 2 of my buddies out permanently last night for ET/MPH LOL. So we joked and moved on to teching in and moved up in up line. I let the car cool from the 1.5hr drive. I did have a slight tailwind which was nice but the temps were at 53degrees when I arrived slighly cloudy and then up 56degrees before I left. After not thinking and just happy to be running I didnt change the tire pressure from 30psi from the drive on the street there. Low and behold I launch the car right around 4000rpm+ and had less than perfect clutch release hazing the clutch a bit hard and shifted down through and got out of it and on the brakes at the 1/8mile point. The car hooked hard obviously and I didnt realize the tire pressure wasnt dropped yet. So I get the slip and was surprised by the MPH and wasnt as pleased with the 60ft.
1st pass-tire pressure 30psi oops
1.561-60ft
4.369-330ft
1/8-6.694
1/8mph-106.95
1000ft-9.001
1/4mi-11.805
1/4mph-73.24

I looked at the MPH in the 1/8 and was like wow thats a new best and .03x away from matching my 10.340 run in the 1/8th.

I came back around realized the tire pressure was high and against my better judgement adjusted to 22psi cold (car sat 40minutes). I changed the clutch reservoir fluid and went up to the line. Hard spin!!!! Go out of it before it went 5ft. This same attempt happened 3 more times hard spin till tires were down to 16psi hot at this point. Car grabbed on a run but I got out of it cause I rolled into the gas to slow so the 60ft suffered greatly.

I come back after a short 15minute cool down and pull up to the line against one of our Forum members with a GORGEOUS 65-67 Widebody mustang kit car with the LS7 in and corvette suspension. He was on street tires running 11.0's most of the day at 130mph+/-. So I figured well if I get a decent hook this could be a record 10.2X run. I bring the RPM's up and let the clutch come out with a pulling spin(instead of sitting spinning the car is pulling hard during a spin not the best ET achiever). I hit 2nd gear and rip the rubber off my MGW shifter by accident jumping on and off the gas for a milisecond thinking I missed a gear. I'm in it hard and feel the car is pulling nice I shift to 3rd and note the rpms are a bit higher which usually means a good shift and good MPH coming so I keep into it to stay ahead of the mean LS7 powered mustang to run it out the back door. I pull up and receive the following slip.

1.616-60ft HORRIBLE!
4.427-330ft
6.751-1/8mi
108.08-1/8mph HOLY COW!!!!
8.740-1000ft
10.408-1/4mi
135.76-1/4mph WOWEEE!!!!

I was greeted nicely by the Tech waiving good bye as I come around. I pull up shake his hand and say thanks for letting me run. He said "you know you're in double trouble with that ET/MPH". We laughed and I pulled in the pits kinda dissappointed cause if I did get a 1.50 60ft I think the car could've pulled a 10.2X pass for sure. Approx DA was -450ft DA is what I was told by one of the uber fast Mustang racers running 8.64's .

I think this run shows some serious potential in the car. I've yet to put the 102mm TB,retune, a few little things I've been checking into to make the little things up that count. Is it possible for 136mph+??? WE SHALL SEE!!

P.S. For Sebast19x FYI this was with the HEAVY quad tipped Corsa's on the car So no comments for the no mufflers this time sunshine lol!

Nice run!

Even with a bar, you gotta stay under 135mph.

If things were different that last run and you didn't spin, your ET would drop but also the spin makes a higher MPH right. If you are tuning, you might consider using the speed limiter feature in HPT. Then dial it in for 134mph, so you can run all day long.

How are you releasing the clutch? My launch is killing my short times.

The RSD bar has been in the basement for 5 months almost When you're looking for every .01 at this point you dont want to put in another 45-50lbs

I dont have HP tuners yet cause one I dont know WTF i'm doing with it but I would love to tune the car at the track instead of only the tune I had done last October.

Well if you would come to the damn track with me this mess could be over. I could hit the 10.2x's and you could run 9's and we could drink some wine and reminise of the great Sebast's quotes. LMAO

Let's both get it and blow our cars up together. It's only basic math, right? You go first.

HP tuners would be a great tool for you to have. Even if you don't do the tuning yourself. Next time we go I'll log some of your runs for you
