Default 03 Z06 LS3/A4 at the track video

My son Camren just recieved his Indiana drivers license/learner permit and has been driving me around lately, so we decided to put together him a nice little bracket C5. I wanted to build him an 11.50 car so he could have a street car and track car all in one. He has been around drag racing all his life and couldn't wait to make his first SOLO pass, been many passes with me as a passenger. We found a used 03 Z06 here on the forum with a bad motor and lots of sold off parts for a song so we drove to Chicago and picked it up a month ago. I already had a stock LS3 take-out motor so we pulled the crank and changed the reluctor wheel and added ARP rod bolts and a DOD pump. The heads I came up with were a used set of LPE CNC ported LS3 heads with good springs. The cam was also used and a baby LPE GT-11, topped with a stock intake and T-body. We added a Blackwing to the stock airbridge and a set of used longtube Dynatechs to the stock mufflers. I wanted him to start out with an automatic so we converted it over with a level 6 and a tight 2800 converter bolted to a 3.42 diff. The car was already mini tubbed and had new 345/18's on back and was a good selling point for us. I was sure the car had a 11.50 in it so we had Roadrebel whip up a tune and headed to the track..... I made a few passes in it logging AFR and we made a few together, then I turned the solo duties over to my son (he's just 15 lol) and watch as he makes his pass I know he did a lot of things wrong ( drove past the line, wasn't in the groove, double bulbed, slept at the light...etc) but I was shocked at how the car ran ! Congrats to my son and he ran the car all night and is getting better more comfortable every pass... He will enter his first even in Atlanta at the shoot-out in just a few weeks. BTW the cam you hear in the video is not his car, his is quiet and idles stock.

So cool Rodney!!! You had told me about this on the phone Thursday. This is Gary with the Auto swap ZO6 South Carolina. So much to be proud of as a father. Father of the year in my book. Keep us posted on how his races go. I showed this to my son and now its all he talks about. He is only 11 years old. Now he is dead set on the idea of him racing my Vette when he turns 15. You may have just started a trend. lol

That is pretty awesome! I met you and your son that night out at the track! I will be bringing my car in for some work here in the near future to get tweaked!

I hope I have a little "car guy" in the future!

Awesome vid and cant wait for my boy to be old enough to enjoy it, so this car is a stock ls3 with stock compression? and heads and cam, and stock ls3 intake and TB, and ran a 10.84, do you remember 60' and mph that car has pulled?
Thanks!
