Default Z06 build

Ok here is what my goals are for my 03 z06. And looking for suddgestions that's going to give me the best bang for the buck.

Fast intake 92 and different throttle body. What size throttle body?
Get my stock heads redone. Any suddgestions?
Cam set up?
Long tube headers?
Has a cold air already, and that was pretty much where I want to go with it right now. Basically the whole top of the motor. So I'm looking for the best suddgestions for the buck.

What sort of budget do you have?
Where do you want the car to make power? Up top? Midrange?
For the fast intake, the LS 2 TB is the way to go.
Long tubes always a good idea. Choice depends on budget.
Cam is dictated by where you want the power.
You will need to have the final setup dyno tuned. So think about that.
Your heads are pretty good stock.
Once you answer the basics, I'm sure guys will chime in with cam and headwork suggestions.

Do you want something that is a quick DD, or something that you can take to a drag strip and rip off 10sec passes with? Or do you want something to take to autos, hpde, or any other kind of course event as well? If you want a stock cubed NA street monster then that will dictate the difference in cam and intake recommendations.

Best bang for the buck..... Well my vote goes for a supercharger and supporting mods... I don't regret the route I went at all. Hell get a used one if you want. They still work....

And don't forget to budget for a clutch to harness the new power, where are you located?

Think the first starting point really should be figuring out what type of car you're trying to build and how extreme do you want to go. If all you care about is drag racing then you'd probably do better buying drag radials and practicing your launch. If all you want are good peak dyno numbers then sure just slap on anything. If you're looking to preserve the overall performance of the car on a budget then you don't really need to do too much to get good results.

If you're trying to get best bang for the buck skip I'd skip the fast manifold, too many people say they lose mid range torque plus it's like $900 before the cost of a new throttle body. Intake/headers/Tune is pretty much the standard recipe to get close to the 400whp mark and those Pfadt headers are just hitting the market now. After this I would look to porting/milling the stock ls6 heads. Depending on your skill set and understanding of mechanics you can actually port the heads yourself if you have a steady hand with a pneumatic die grinder which basically makes this free hp and tq everywhere in the rpm band. Add to that $60 per head for cleaning and milling and for $120 you have ported heads and a bump in compression ratio, however not everyone can do this and you may be better of sending them out to be ported (figure $500-$800 locally). Ported Ls6 heads even on the stock cam give great results and will put you in the 410-415whp range.

Camshafts would obviously be your next step, maybe a ATI super dampener. Or you could always go with Blanks suggestion and pick up a S/c and forget about it. Although personally I'm not a fan of adding weight and heat soak to the engine.
