How many of you are taking a crack at the FAST list?
Track times get thrown around all the time it seems. This day in age I see many people throwing a cam in their car strictly for the sound (I did at one point) and wondering why their car runs what it does. Most of the time this is the result of them not doing all the supporting mods and bolt on's to help the car perform like it should. This is just an observation on my end. Take this post with a grain of salt...
So my question is how many of you guys out there are taking a crack at the fast list? Some of the records are pretty old. You would think with technology advancing that some of the records would be dropping down the list. Are people not trying anymore?

I am going to try to lower mine if I can find a good track day. Recently had the cars tuned and picked up a bunch of rwhp from when I ran the 10.22 N/A. First time on dyno read 418, after some tweaking, it's now around 442 (mustang dyno). 24 rwhp should help my goal - I'm hoping for a 10 "O" so close ...

I usually do one 1/4 mile event and one 1/2 mile event every year. I'm still trying my hardest to get into the 11's. It shouldn't be difficult with 638rwhp and R Comps, but it's eluded me so far with a best of 11.504@131mph. It's going to happen this year!
Always trying to get a better 1/2 mile as well, but that's far more difficult. Weather has a much larger impact on top speed in that distance, and it's fairly consistent unless major power is added.

I'm #8 on the 346 internal mods list with my Y2k coupe A4 car.
It's been a couple years now since I've run the car.
Once I got my 5.3 Turbo setup running in my Nova, the poor C5 just wasn't quite as fun anymore.
:-)
Prob be the same story this year as I have upgrades in the works to break the 9.0 barrier.
So maybe next year I'll get back to tweaking on the C5 some more. Move up the list! Even though no one is "calling me out"!

Makes sense. Competition drives performance. Many of us are "stalled out" because there not enough challenges, smack talk, and competitors making us push the envelope.

I like to work at accomplishing goals like proving big hp can be made with these 346's n/a on the stock bottom end, but I'd hate to spend the time and money to do the heads, and intake, just to have it sit back where it is. Even after the upgrades it won't be faster if it never moves.

I don't put much effort in to selling, just know it's a huge waste not to have this car racing all the time.

Burning Brakes
We picked up an almost new cam and hope to install that this year and even with stock 241 heads and LS6 intake take a shot at the H/C Top 10. Once I install the cam I'm going to take the car to Pat G for a tune. Never been 100% satisfied with my local tuner. Also going to build a stand alone system and have him tune the nitrous system as well when we're there.
Looking forward to going to Indy this summer for the NMCA race. Have never been and we're excited!

Maybe I'll throw the dragpac on the 04 and see if I can't break 10.196 @ 132.10 n/a and then spray some N20 to see how the 382 LS-6 reacts with the new (Holley) computer, looking to better 9.511 at 141.94 (on a 100) maybe spray 300

like someone already said, "there's no one chasing me" seems like I've been reading about a lot of 500 rwhp N/A cars out there but not one close to a 10.2X. I don't get it... When I see some car H/C/I packages putting down decent numbers say better then 10.5X it might catch my eye and motivate me to go and drop my auto heads cam time a bit lower
