Default Looking for recommendations on new LS6 Cam

I'd planed on a new build for my car but don't see being able to do for a while so I'm thinking of heads, cam, intake and TB. I've got Longtubes and cold air intake. Most likely will buy Trickflow 215's, fast with TB. What cams have have performed very well assuming stock bottom with 30,000 miles. If you have any recommendations I'd like to see numbers .

Thx R

I'd personally get something that works together specifically for your car and what you intend on doing with it, vs something off the shelf. Great start would be to call someone like Tony Mamo and get his recommendation.

Excellent suggestion about speaking with Tony Mamo. There are many other vendors that offer excellent expertise and advice and will steer in you the right direction for YOU. I personally spoke with Martin@Tick Performance and he was very knowledgeable and spoke with me at great length before I even mentioned about purchasing something. I chose the "Tourqe Monster SNS Stage 3" and I could NOT be happier.

With 1 3/4 LT's(texas speed brand) into their off road-x, FAST 42# injectors and a vararam I made 432/417 and the torque curve is GREAT!!!!!

Talk to Ed curtis at flow tech inductions. He spec'd me a cam and it has done nothing but impress me the whole time. Great driveability and amazing performance. Cam and Bolt ons with an auto I trap 126mph in the 1/4 and no surging under 1100rpm. It was a streetsweeper grind.

I have a 97 LS1 stock bottom end (95k miles) LS6 intake, 243 heads milled .020, LT headers, stock injectors, stock throttle body, aftermarket air filter, BTR STAGE 1 CAM, 405rwhp/405tq at 6300rpm to save the bottom end. It has a nice idle and zero low rpm issues. I can be in 6th gear at 45 mph and slow roll up to 70 mph with no bucking. It's very tempting to go big on a cam and chase the dyno numbers. Spend a week and watch the rpm's you drive. I spend 95% of the time under 2k rpm. I wanted a cam with low end torque, why buy a cam that comes in at 4k when you spend all your time on the street below 3k.

Nice!

OP choose your cam carefully. I had a camned car previously and it ruined the car. It was a dog down low, made all the power up high... Not great unless you want to thrash your car daily. It also bucked and surged like a bitch off cold idle pulling out of my neighbourhood ...

I talked with tony mamo and will likely get my cam from him when that time comes he knows his custom grinds.
