Apparently no nitrous attributed to the lower mph. Too rich.

Hopefully we can get nitrous again soon. Apparently the main plant shut down.

Would these work better on my stock gearing vs. the 28 Hoosiers?

Default Update. Up 8 mph...up 2 from previous best

Got my new slicks. Gained 8 mph from last time, but 60fts aren't better.

Do new slicks get better after a few break in runs?

no bro, you have to play with your launching technique and tire air pressure

you need to find what works best for your car, its hard for guys to advise you with out knowing the details of you launch? did the car hook and fall on its face? did you spin/ how much spin?? how much air pressure was in the tires? launch rpm? how long was your burn out was it to short or to long?

but either way your going to want to play around with:
tire pressure
burn out time & speed (should be 2nd rear)
launch rpm
clutch release technique

your gold is to get the most grip at the highest rpm you can launch, but your clutch and drive train might suffer so its really how bad you want it?

lower the tire pressure higher rpm launch should get you better 60's but you have to figure out what works for your setup?

I was spinning out the hole. Had them at 17 psi hot. Launching around 4500.

I also was not slipping the clutch and giving the throttle a squeezing motion, as I thought with slicks, you didn't really need to. Maybe that's the whole issue?

Going to take some air out and try 4500 rpm, slipping the clutch instead of dropping the hammer out the hole.

Goal is 7.1 @ 99 to 100 MPH.

i run my et street bias-ply around 14/15 psi hot have launch at 5k cut a 1.50 60ft with just popping the clutch i had a monster clutch with a tick master cylinder the clutch engagement window was so small really couldn't slip it

i think you need to drop that slick down to 12-14psi hot and maybe a longer burnout or less of a burnout, if your burnout is to long that will hurt your 60ft too i learned the hard way. that tire you is a full slick should be a lot better then what i run so once you figure it out that should hook hard

i do a 2nd gear burnout time it about 4-5 seconds then let go of my line lock and roll forward roasting till they grab (but stop before staging) if you stop at the burnout where you start you can pickup debris and even water from cars that was in front of you as you pull up to stage. by timing my burnout's i have become pretty consistent last time out most 60ft's was 1.50 to 158, im not saying this will work for you just giving you an idea of what works for my setup with 475/415 rear wheel. I run 7.1 in the 8th around 97mph and 11.21 @ 122mph best in 1/4 that was with none WOT shifting

Another mistake is I don't think my burnouts were long enough. Gotta try that.

Thanks for the feedback/tips. Going to hit 7.1.

I would strongly caution against dumping the clutch. The drivetrain is not meant to take that abuse. The trans and rear is very expensive to replace. Either the clutch must slip and/or the tires spin to get a great launch. Ideally slicks will rotate 3-5 revolutions on a good launch. The nose needs to come up and stay up .

I agree 100% with you on that one, i stated that in #4 post

my last clutch setup monster stage 2 tick adjustable master the engagement window was small when the car would start to move id get pushed back in the seat and foot would move back so the clutch would be engaged, so it was just as good as dumping the clutch i felt but thats one of the reasons i never really went any lower with air pressure in the tires

Thanks, guys.

Going to lower the pressure and work on my slipping/squeezing techniques. 1.6s...here I come!
