I'd love to see what it runs in the quarter mile especially what it's mph is. I read it's a road race car and would probably not see any quarter mile tracks but in case you ever do please stop by the sticky at the top of the page and see how you compare. We would be in the same category "Internal Engine Modifications - Head/cam -> 346 " with you putting down about as much rwhp as I do. Unfortunately we do not have a "cam only category". Actually, you have higher numbers but what the heck, they are only numbers. The real number to me is how well it 60 foots and what it will run in the 1/4 or 1/2 mile.

The term cam only has been tossed around for a long time and seems used loosely used but as we all know adding just a cam is a waste without supporting mods. What do I know, I wrote the check because I'm dumb and stupid for not perusing a career in auto mechanics.
Well, the car has a stock clutch in it......although it's relatively new(3500 ish miles) I don't know how much drag strip abuse it would take. I know it wont hook on the Michelin PSS, in 60 degree air you can put the car in 2nd gear at 2500 rpm, turn off trac control.....put it on the floor and it will destroy the PSS. Third gear feels pretty sporty I must say, fourth gear....on the street I don't push it much there as the car is moving pretty hard.

I may take it just to see. What MPH would be expected with 440 to the wheels? 122-123?

IF I get 440 rwhp with the new (LS1 stock cube) setup and tuner, my plan is to make a 9 second pass this fall. Already have been over 130 mph with 418 rwhp. Like I said, to me they are just numbers.

I took it to the track, the stock clutch is slipping...even on MPSS. When I go to put the car into gear to make the return road the pedal is mush.

I ran the car to 160mph on the way home and it would not go into 6th gear, I had to wait and pump the clutch.

This is a 3500 mile LS6 replacement clutch.

Best pass

12.14@119.8 with a 2.05 sixty foot.

Time for a stronger clutch.

Decent! Obviously with a better 60' you'll be in the 11's ... 119mph would reflect closer to 410whp but if your clutch was slipping that would explain the 119. IMO 440 should put you up around 123+. Either way impressive results!

On an "official" list this car wouldn't qualify as cam only, but who cares. He listed the mods which is more than what most people would do.

The bump in compression with a proper tune is most certainly worth some power. Nice numbers regardless. Get a clutch in that thing now.

umm...you yanked the heads off and milled them to increase compression ratio.

By definition that is "head work."

Unless I speak an odd version of English.

I run a dyno. 5 days a week. It's a Dyno Dynamics.

So last week I tuned a 16 Scat pack with a TVS blower at 13 psi. It made 522 as delivered.
I retuned it and it made 560.
Then put C16 in it. Retuned and it made 660. Quite a nice improvement.
Then I tuned the nitrous. Small shot. It made 760.

We send the sheet showing all 4 runs to the customer and he was puzzled.

He had it dyno'd a month earlier on pump gas and it made 680.........

I've never put either of my cars on there......I'd have to report the numbers here and you guys would go pffffft....weak sauce.

Maybe I should take them where he took his?

It's not cam only but still good numbers. OP shouldn't have tried to downplay a complete motor rebuild lol.

Cam only means the heads haven't been off the car since forever.

SO the pistons have a 4cc relief, I'm supposed to live with that drop in compression to call it a "cam only" car???

LOL.

Heads have ZERO port work.

Car makes more steam than the "average" (ported)head/cam car, I can live with that.

It better make more because you completely rebuilt the motor. That's why it's not cam only.

Still be proud of the numbers, I bet it's a fun car.
