Well the car fired up for the first time today and sounds great. Should have dyno results within the next day or so. I'll post a video and dyno graph. Should be done just in time for a damn snow storm........

Dyno results are in, no graph yet but it made 468/411. I'll post a video and graph as soon as I get it. Baseline was 387 with longtubes and intake. true test Is driving it!

If there's any way you could get a video of the speedometer during a pull, say 3rd gear starting around 30MPH that would be awesome. I talked to Tony back in December and plan on replicating your setup around next fall and would love to see the difference.

Very solid True dyno numbers... as expected with a setup from Mamo.

Plus or minus 10-20rwhp on a dyno makes no difference on the street and 1/4 mile.

I'm sure once the weather gets better, you'll feel the true potential of what you have. Right now your just going sideways in 2nd and chirping third hard.

Sorry final numbers were 468/423. The dyno had a. Issue with rpm pickup but tire size is 25.4 if you want to look at the rpm calc.

Looks pretty stout! Should be a pretty noticeable difference in the way it drives, looks like in the graph you could pull some more rpms if you wanted, the hp doesn’t seem to be dropping off too quickly but looks like a great build and results!

Those numbers seem very stout for the cam you are running. How does it drive? Also what is the lift on the cam?

haven't picked it up yet because the area the shop is in got snow. Cam is 229/232 .615/.610 114. Should have very good driveability.

The clutch will be fine as long as you keep the clutch fluid clean. Had several 550hp C5’s, and never needed a clutch!

Well I pulled the valve covers a d the wipe pattern was pretty far off. I put shims in at .045 and the new pushrod length is 7.580. I will be installing them Tuesday and putting it back on the dyno to see if anything changes power wise. Either way the wipe pattern was drastically better. Also I am installing hinson short motor mounts because the Fast 102 is hitting the cowl causing a ton of noise in the cabin.

Also have a new monster LT1s twin disk being installed after we get the pushrod stuff straightened out so I can be done with the car for a while and just enjoy it worry free.

Idle is currently set at 950-975 so I'm gonna have the new tuner try and dial it in a little lower so I can get a little better sound at idle.

So we baselined the car and made 457/391 before we changed the motor mounts. Turns out the manifold hitting the cowl was causing knock retard from false knock. After the mounts were installed zero knock at all. So we went from 20.5 degrees of timing to 26. Final numbers were 477/414. Car drives great and really rips. This was the before and after result of how I picked it up from the first shop to how it sits now. Only main change was the motor mounts and timing it allowed to be put back in. We did back to back with the pushrods and shims and although the wipe pattern was way better the dyno results were identical.

Sounds like very similar results to my 402. You'll have to let me know how it drives with all that power since I'll probably never use my full power tune! Mine will be in ST2 tune 99% of the time.

Edit: just read through the thread - didn’t realize Tony had a hand in designing the AFR215 heads that are on my car. Cool!

At $6900 for a new LS3 crate engine (less used)... Any reason you didn't choose to do a LS3 swap into your Z06? Cost could have also been reduced by reselling your factory LS6 engine with only 2,900 miles (~$2K to $3K).

Installing a mild cam in the LS3 while its out of the car would have been minimal cost!

I did a mild cam only set up in a factory LS3 and it put down 501rwhp/460rwtq

Any reason why you didn't drop an LS7 crate motor into your C6?

My 102 hits the cowl as well, I purchased Lingenfelter cradle spacers to drop it down 1/4" to clear, but I still wondered this as well if it was causing any noise in the engine. I will agree though that you hear everything in the car with it touching.. It is rather annoying since ALL of the valvetrain noise reverberates into the cabin and you can't hear any of it outside of the car.

We sell lowered engine mounts for just this application. Our mounts are 3/8'' lower than stock. I run them in my own car to clear a Fast 102.

do the hinson mounts they clear perfectly. The cabin is silent now I cant believe the diff it made plus power on top.

as for an engine swap I like the factory engine and if I want more power which I will. I plan on doing an ls7. Ls3 isnt that much better for what I want right now. I dont want boost so the 427 would be ideal.

I actually had a set of hinson mounts that I was going to install. Took them back to summit though for something else I needed right then.

I may just do the engine mounts since I have the pfadt/afe mount in the back and it would be better to have the car be stiff front and rear.
