Default New PB Cam only 2000 c5

Got my PB today for a cam only, full weight c5. BTR stage 4 cam, yank s4000, fast 76 intake, stock 3.15 gears, stock 4l60e, stock rear, stock 853 heads. The transmission has over 150 passes on it, all 1.5 60fts and doesn't miss a lick. Wanna hit 6s N/A so bad but I think I am going with the juice instead of the cost of a decent set of heads. Already have a kit sitting around.

Congrats on the PB!

Have you thought about a set of 3.73's in there and get your 60 foot down into the 1.4 range?

I've thought about it but I'm not sure if it would make the difference or not... Wish you didn't have to get a whole pumpkin for the swap . Do you think it would net me that much more? I've 60ft better a bit before mostly around 1.51.. It launches very good for the mods

Yea I do. My H/C/I SBE would cut 1.3's all day. A 1.4 is very doable.

I ran TrickFlow 215's. I didn't notice your heads when I first read it. Still think you should cut 1.4's with a set of 243's. Below was my car with the 243's back in 2009.

Those times would be awesome . That'd an excellent mph. I need to try a track with low elevation .Were those stock 243s?

They were not stock if I recall. They were worked when I had bought them and a cam from some local street racers. They were something like 65cc's, bringing my compression down to about 10:1. They were worked more for a blower/supercharger.

This was where I ended up with the 346 motor with a heads cam - BTW

The gears made all the difference in the world. Going from a 10.7 to a 10.2X took a heck of a lot more power. I sold the car last fall after another new LS1 short block that bumped the compression from 10:3.1 to 10:5 to 1 and had dialed in the vacuum pump. We thought it had a 9 sec pass on the right day.

Wow thats awesome out of a H/C/I ls1. Was that with the TFS 215s? I thought about adding some fast as cast TFS 220s with the BTR stage 4 cam I have to keep my compression.

Worked over 243s are worth quite a bit over my junk heads so I can see myself getting a 1.4 60ft pretty easy with that change. I'm not sure about a low 1.4 like yours though.

With some TFS 220's should be about 50 hp over my current heads.. would like to see a 6.7-6.8. I'd be very happy

The as cast 220's are more for the bore on the LS2, the 215's are the correct heads for an LS1/LS6. My 215's were worked too, Headgames put a lot of time in them.

lol - yea I know he does that. Probably to fit people into the price range they are looking for. What examples does he have with running low 10's, 346 ci N/A with the "as cast"? Everyone buys their stuff from him. Brian IS the man. He will also hand port your TB and Intake.

215's are the correct head for the LS1/LS6 bore.
