Default C5 Exhaust options

Time to change out my mufflers, blew one out...
Question-will a C5 Z06 bolt up to my base Vette with no mods. I can buy a used ZO6 system with the cats for $150 from a private party. Other than that my next option is a Bola S Stinger set up.
I don't currently track the car, but WOT is a daily thing!

Thoughts and Thanks!

Just found some old posts from 2012, the ZO6 are a direct bolt on for the base.

Thanks to
Chicago & K9 leader, "It is a direct bolt up to your coupe. No modification necessary
Yep, straight bolt-on. I put on a set of Ti exhausts in November. Definitely looks better and sounds just right for me. Will last forever and it's lighter."

Yes, they bolt up - no issues. I had early Borla stingers - they droned. I switched to the Z06 tis. The tis aren't the loudest - not sure how much sound you're looking for.

$150 for a TI Z06 exhaust system. Better jump on that! Don't expect too much if any noise increase, they are quiet. I have a Z and moved to Corsa Extremes. Sounds much better.

Default C6 zo6 exhaust on base c5

My mechanic has told me you can also put c6 zo6 exhaust (exhaust manifold h pipe and cats) on a base c5 for even better performance. I'm considering it as I live in calif. and it's my best smog legal modification avaliable. I know technical it may not be legal but my smog guy says who would ever know and it will pass smog as well. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this mod.

It's been done with good power gains. Some modifications are needed to the mid pipe for fitment (I haven't done it myself). There are a few threads discussing the install.

I just had one put on and there were no install issues. Sounds about the same, until you get on the gas.

Z06 Ti’s really shine when you have LTs. With that said I went from GHLs to Ti last year and miss the loudness of the GHL so I am installing QTP cutouts. I hear modded Ti exhausts sound awesome
