Arkansas Mile Results C5
Hello all,
I posted asking some questions last year about running a standing mile race. I appreciate all the responses. We were running a stock 99 FRC and were limited to the speeds we were allowed to run due to a lack of additional safety equipment. So last June (2018) we went out and ran the race and had lots of fun, but we were not able to get a top speed time as we were limited to 135mph by the rules. Since then we have added a six point roll bar, racing seats, and five point harnesses. This allowed us to run up to 175mph under the rules. So this year we went back to Arkansas and went all out. The results are listed below:
Top speed at the mile for my son was 159.011mph, he was running 135.277mph at the half.
Top speed at the mile for myself was 157.260mph, I was running 134.973mph at the half.
The weather was in the mid to upper 80's and very humid.
The car is stock, with the exception of longtube headers and an x-pipe, also a dynotune to try and get everything we could out of the stock motor.
The car has 146K miles and has 323rwhp on the dyno.
I have found this type of information helpful on the forum, so I though I would share my results.
Also, if you are interested, the race is put on by the East Coast Timing Association and run in Blytheville Arkansas. The staff for the race is super friendly and we were able to get as many runs in as we wanted.
The safety equipment and tuning were done by Meyhem Motorsports in Raleigh, NC. They were great to work with, and I would recommend them if you are looking for a shop to work on your ls powered car.
Hopefully this information will be of interest or help to some. I really appreciate all the information on the forum, it has been extremely helpful to me.

Hell yea, that's awesome! I did a couple mile events and 165 was my best..... I'm doing a half mile event next weekend and a mile event in September and can't wait to see how fast I go now with my supercharger

165 is great. What supercharger did you go with? We are considering adding the A&A supercharger next year. Also, I would love to hear the results after you do the half mile event and your thoughts on how the car performs.

Sounds fun, are times for the event listed anywhere? Would be interested to see how your times stack up to other stock-ish cars...i think a C5 Z06 is good for low 140's in the 1/2

Nice job I wanted to get to Arkansas in April but my car was still being finished I may try and go there in September. Especially if the Colorado Mile gets canceled.
