Engines don't have oil level sensors installed, they just have low pressure sensors. And you have to get your engine oil VERY low to trigger that.
And my pre-DI Canyon, very well cared for, burns about a quart every 3K miles.
Since this is a Corvette forum, I should point out that Corvettes have had low level sensors on their wet sump engines since around 1990.
OE part#: 10137676, 10137679, 12603784 for the C4's.
