When things were going badly there for my former company, our ex-pats got told one random Tuesday to leave at the end of the day like it was a normal day. Don't clean out your desk, or carry a bunch of crap with you, just leave and lock the door as usual on your way out. When they got home, they were told they were leaving the country in the middle of the night. We were not the only US based company to do that.

You want to build manufacturing plants in foreign countries to save on labor costs etc. well guess what, that comes with risks. This is one of those risks, it was a risk when Chavez was in power and it only got worse. The federal governments job isn't to go around the world protecting seized corporate assets in foreign lands. It's also not the not the taxpayers of this country to bail them out. Their "cheap" labor costs just skyrocketed.
