Default Closing Us Plants- Keeping Mexco plants open

Anyone else have "Feelings" about GM closing 4 american plants (15K American jobs) while keeping 5 Plants open? Didn't the timing (days after Thanksgiving and in the middle of the Christmas season) take GENIUS leadership from GM? Oh, and taking a tax-payer bailout and following up with borrowing more $$ for stock buybacks takes a special appreciation for the US and it's middle class that only GM could muster.
.
I'm thinking GM needs to export leadership to another country.. If anyone wants to know where GM's heart is, just take a visit to their corporate headquarters campus for a day.
.
PS: Didn't GM take a bunch of $$ from the Canadian govt as well?

My main feeling about GM is that we should never have bailed them out in 2008. We should have allowed Capitalism to work as the Founding Fathers intended.

If they keep turning out Aztek variants with pick up beds like this and also the new 1500, GM has more to worry about than closing a few plants. WTH is going on with them, hideous...

EXACTLY. Allowing nature to have taken it's course would have resulted in better allocation of capital. There would have been some pain but that pain was only postponed... at a cost. So, what did all that money really accomplish for the AMERICAN workers who just lost their jobs and to the impact that will radiate (suppliers and other businesses) ? It's going to happen anyway.

And I've bought nothing but GM products since 1980, except for 1 used Dodge pickup truck. 7 Vettes included in the GM products I bought.

Wth difference does it make if they close plants here or there. Won't be much longer and they'll be forced to move them back here to fill all the jobs because there won't be any mexicans in mexico any more.

My truck is the 1st GM vehicle I’ve had in 10 years. So far so good. We’ll see how it goes.

A trade agreement between North American countries was signed just days ago. It doesn't allow for such an action. Of course, it hasn't been approved by the house - so........maybe!

I'm glad we bailed them out. Say what you want about the cheap plastic, but they put $ where it counts (engine and transmission).

I've owned 4 Chevys. All have been damn near bulletproof.
