At any rate one drastic measure you could take would be to install a breathalyser ignition interlock system in your car then your defence would simply be that you would not have been able to drive drunk as your car wouldn't have started if you were over the limit! Given the overreach of this new law I could foresee the day when the government makes it law that interlocks will be standard on new cars, just like seat-belts.
And it's people like you that would accept such measures that will eventually get them instigated!

PS, the UK pound is weak against the dollar right now............................

Actual physical control.

Who are people like me? I didn't vote for the party that passed this law, I'm not in favour of it or the seat-belt law for that matter but what exactly does one do to stop the government from passing stupid laws? Yes you can always hope they get voted out next election and the new government rescinds the law but that may not happen. I guess you could get yourself charged and fight it all the way to the Supreme Court but you'd need a lot of money to pay for good lawyers. Reality is our "sober second thought" Senate should have blocked this Bill as infringing on our Bill of Rights but they haven't blocked a Bill in many years.

Are you suggesting I invest in the Pound?

I made my statement because you talk about these atrocities that YOUR Government are introducing like you've already accepted them.....Fight it to the bitter end mon amie, it's the thin end of the wedge.

No to UK currency, it will only go down until Brexit is ironed out!

Hyperbole much?

Personally, I'll assume some risk in exchange for freedom and lack of oppression. YMMV.

they can only demand one if you're behind the wheel, not while you're in your Lay Z Boy watching All In The Family.

Plans to study a full ban on handguns and assault weapons, that's unpossible, according to most Americans, Canadians aren't allowed to own such weapons?

Expect a strong response by the iceheads for their government stepping on their liberties.
