I do not watch any of the networks' Sunday morning dnc-promo shows, they all suck, but have to question why slavery came into the discussion, as the only discussion is that this guy is an extreme racist that repeatedly lies about his past, and why does he sit in shame when many members of his own party have correctly labelled him-none have back him, and told him to step down.

Because if he #1 is forced to step down next up to bat is #2 being impeached and the #3 dude behind him did the same thing as #1 so that leaves #4 moving into the #1 spot and he is a Pub. But hey we already know all that but I just like to rub Dems face in it.

Have you considered the progression is practice for the Democrat-Socialists campaign to impeach Trump, then...

It wasn't really indentured servitude, but when my Mom's parents came to this country from Germany, in 1923, their ship passage had been paid by a German-American farmer in Nebraska. He also paid for their train ride from New York (they entered the US via Ellis Island) to a small town in Nebraska. My grandfather was hired as a farm hand, while my grandmother was hired to do cooking and cleaning on the farm. They agreed to work there until they could pay back the loan for the ship's passage, train fare, etc. Given that they weren't paid much (above and beyond being provided with room and board), this took a couple of years. So it was almost like an indentured servitude agreement, except that they couldn't be sent to jail, if they had violated it.....

Even though both came from basically a peasant-farming background in Germany, it's interesting that as soon as they paid off their debt, and could save a bit of extra money, they went back to New York City and settled there. Him as a cook, and her as a domestic/maid. And later on they opened up a small diner together.

I'm sure that being laborers on a farm in the 1920's was a hard life.

That meant the English came into his Scottish home, killed as many of the men as possible, raped all the women and took any boys prisoner and declared them "Prisoners of War", even though their was no war going on. They were then charged for their own imprisonment and got re-named "Indentured Servants", shipped to the North Americas in November with no blankets or warm clothing (80% of the "Cargo" died on the trip) and sold at a slave auction. They were "Indentured" to the British government, who sold their fake sheet of money owed to a private individual to be used as slaves. They were considered lower than slaves, as they came with a negative financial balance. As "Indentured servants" they were required to be paid a "Salary", which was the equal of a few cents a week. The ONLY path out of being a slave was to pay off the purchase price to their owners. This is no different than any other slave arrangement wherein the slave either pays their own way, or somebody else buys them out.

I'm sick and tired of hearing how bad Africans had it in the US. The UK had been abusing, enslaving and selling humans for generations before they started in on the traditionally Arabic trade routes of Africa.
Agree, and I have documentation of my ancestors also being "indentured servants" but I'm not crying for reparations !
