https://www.foxnews.com/entertainmen...the-difference

Pete Davidson tackled the R. Kelly sex abuse scandal on“Saturday Night Live”and compared the R&B singer’s fans to Catholic church supporters.

Davidson appeared in the “Weekend Update” segment Saturday night and began his appearance by calling R. Kelly, who was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sex abuse, a “monster” and “should go to jail forever.” He then likened the R. Kelly allegations to the Catholic church child abuse scandal.

“But if you support the Catholic church, isn’t that the same thing as being an R. Kelly fan?

I don’t really see the difference — only one’s music is significantly better,” Davidson said, which received boos and laughs from the audience.

It seems the only thing worse to a liberal than being a Trump supporter nowadays is being a Catholic

It's an ignorant statement.

It's like saying if you support America it's the same as supporting a corrupt politician, or if you believe in law and order, you support dirty cops...or if you believe in socialism, you support owning 3 homes, or skimming $855,000 in campaign donations to give to your boyfriend.

The idea of being a Catholic these days is pretty crappy to many Catholics.

It's not just these days. I was raised a Catholic, and went to parochial school for grades 1-8. That was a long time ago (1954-1962), and in those 8 years they did a stellar job driving me away from the church, and it had absolutely nothing to do with the current abuse scandals.

So did I. 4th through 8th 62-66 and as an altar boy all summers long, plus freshman year in a seminary. Didn't drive me away, but to each their own. All that and I didn't even get molested once. I still go to church every week and it hasn't hurt me yet, but that's my choice.

I'm supposed to feel crappy about being Catholic, just because a bunch of child molesters who posed as Catholic priests molested children?

The Catholic church went off the rails when Emperor Constantine made it the official church of the Roman Empire and moved its seat to Rome.

Imho, all organized religions have drifted far from original intent. The weakness of all human organizations.

Raised Catholic myself and schooling from 1st thru 7th, and I had some damn good Nuns for teachers, they were strict but, fair. However, as I grew older I realized that it wasn't a faith I wanted to follow.

Why the Catholic Church has not been investigated under the RICO act is beyond me.

So let me understand, you chose to let man separate you from God? Just because their are crappy Christians like you experienced doesnt mean God isnt still a loving God. He still knocks at the door.

You know you are brainwashed when you refuse to accept the fact that the whole church is corrupt.
