Default Society seems so Corrupt and Dishonest

and it matters not how wealthy one is. In fact, the very affluent seem better at it than most

Dont get me wrong, I certainly do not lose sleep over the dishonest people in the world. I know that the Universe tends to take care of that. . But it does force one to keep his guard up. Cynicism has become a requirement for survival. I guess I'm grateful to someone or something for being aware of it. So many others are just easy prey

A lot of people adhere to the principle that all honesty is, is the fear of being caught. I suppose that's true if your moral compass doesn't work, or you never had one.

I basically lost all faith in humanity about 6 years ago, at age 45.

Agree with fyreline, it's more about what you can get away with than what's right or wrong for most people.

Family values and hard working people are now in the minority, society has followed suit.

More and more people everywhere, prices for everything keep going up, everyone has their hand out... buckle in tight because the craziness will continue to escalate.

I wonder if this is the first generation to whine about how society is going down hill.

When I was 16 years old, my father sat me down and passed to me some of the best wisdom I could have ever been exposed.
He explained to be that the social order of our world consisted of only two types of persons. They were, in his opinion and experience, the caught and the uncaught. Of course he also said they was a third unusual group. The group that never had to worry about being caught.

He advised strongly that I should strive to be in the third group.. Some of the soundest advice I have ever had and it was free.

There is a sense of "who can out-crook whom".
Most of it stems from sheer incompetence and a general unwillingness to pay for mistakes.
Its so bad in the "skilled trades" that its hard to properly explain using English.

still sounds like 2 groups. I mean if one is Honest and simply does the right thing, caught vs .uncaught simply doesn't apply

I will agree that the moral compass of a vast majority of people has gone completely off track. I refuse to follow suit and will continue to do as was taught my my parents and grandparents - treat others as you would want to be treated.
