It should be noted that the “productive” hard working patriot types do their homework and have read the other sides play book.....every “new deal” bullshit they try and pass off as “new” comes directly from one of those books listed above.

I'd like to hear an explanation of how the process of taking away $999 million from a billionaire would work.

How are the 999 new millionaires chosen? Why not create more middle class people - 19,980 people with $50,000?

Kurt Vonnegut's "Harrison Bergeron" is another and a brilliant look at just what being truly equal means. For the OP and a few others, it's a short read.

just did.....The Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981 slashed the highest rate from 70 to 50 percent, and indexed the brackets for inflation.

Then, the Tax Reform Act of 1986, claiming that it was a two-tiered flat tax, expanded the tax base and dropped the top rate to 28 percent for tax years beginning in 1988.

So in an 8 year time span the highest tax rate went from 70% to 28% and the deficits began to explode.

Should everyone pay the same exact amount for identical services in a car club?

That's funny. Anyone that thinks like the OP is entitled to everything for free. They will not work for it because they can get it for free because the people that do study harder and work harder will pay for his entitlements.

Any ism type government is tyranny and bondage. Take your ism government and shove it up your ***.

Funny, no mention of spending cuts. Why is that?

Their intent isn't really to use the $999M to make more millionaires. They just want to take it away from the billionaire.

Should we all be driving Ford Fiestas? Is anything past that "more of too much?" How about a mid size crossover or SUV? Is that "more of too much?". Is spending more that $20k on a vehicle or more that $150k on a house "more of too much?" Please define what exactly more of too much means. Because if you're talking about more of too much from your point of view I can tell you that from someone else's point of view that bar is at quite a different level.

I think "more of too much" is subjective. Ask a person making $75k a year living in a $200k house and he'll probably say "yeah, I'm average and anyone making more could do with less." Ask the same question to someone making $125k and lived in a $300k house the same question and you will probably be told that his level of income and status should be the cutoff point. Of course these would be the responses of someone that supports socialism..... as long as it doesn't upset their apple cart.

Ask anyone that believes in capitalism and they might say, if you have the education, work hard, use a little common sense, have the intelligence and don't squander what you've been given then you will be successful.

Sometimes I've looked back and regretted not getting a college degree but that didn't define my life. No, I don't own a million dollar house or have a second house in the Hamptons and I don't drive expensive cars. But, I did retire when I was 56 after a great 33 year career. I've owned a C6 and my house and my funeral are paid off. Is all that more of too much? I suspect to many people it is. I also suspect that to many people it's just basic living. I'm not as rich as most on here seem to portray themselves to be but happiness isn't being on a parallel with everyone else. Happiness is being content with what you have regardless of how much others around you have.

Socialism wants everyone on the same level. The problem is that the 1% of people at the top controlling the socialist state are way more equal that the 99% at the bottom that end up with nothing.

I voted for Trump too. Unfortunately for him the socialists have a very loud voice.

You (or anyone else) don't get to decide when another person has enough wealth.
Actually all of us have X amount of money we control (from wages, dividends, whatever), much of which pays for basic living and some amount for discretionary spending. So in that context wealth is definitely finite. Every dollar you spend on one thing (and that potentially goes to one of these billionaires) is a dollar that will not be seen by anyone else.
