It seems curious that you don't seem to grasp that this sub-forum exists for the purpose of debate, questioning ideas.

What I care about is there be as little irrationality in the world as possible. Prayer isn't rational.

IMO the same thing from a non-religious standpoint. But a big difference could be how you wish vs prayer. A simple thought/wish is one thing. But involving the person suffering/afflicted and/or a close group of family/caregivers i.e. hand holding in group prayer is a whole different experience and has greater potential effect.

Man doesn't seem to response when you ask him to stop causing that **** to happen. Instead you find some idiots trying to blame all the bad **** in life, on something they avow doesn't exist. These same idiots, then want to act like their logic is superior to those crazy religion embracers.

You just can't make this **** up.

The real reason you state that saying prayers isn't rational is due to one simple fact. You don't understand how reality works. You are caught up in the world of illusion.

You have to be really deep in dementia to think someone is blaming bad things on a non existent entity.

But, but you lie, so why should anyone listen to you. How's your Christianity working out for you?

there's a disconnect here.

what I was addressing is some really stupid people and a particular claim. for instance when person X attempts to mirror another persons' logic with a statement "god causes bad things" for instance, they are not speaking for themselves. it's just an example of mirroring someones' logic.

does that make more sense?

So god listens better when you hold hands? Do you have any proof of the “greater potential effect”?

No no one is blaming bad **** on someone they avow doesn’t exist. They say that to make a point to the people that think god actually answers prayers and makes people lives better all awhile forgetting all the bad **** that has happened to them to put them in the situation that they need to pray in the first place. Kind of like when someone prays to be cured of cancer, if he has the power to cure cancer why does he let people get it in the first place?
