Seems like 30 years of working for the MTA can be pretty lucrative.

Public sector employee union pensions are mostly all scams. Reminds me of the sanitation worker in, I believe NYC, who got to retire with something like a $300,000 annual pension.

A 4 star general with 30 years of service doesn't get that generous of a pension, but we're supposed to believe these city workers deserve it ?

Almost all of urban America and about half of rural has become a giant cash grab by public sector employees and government contractors at the expense of people that provide real economic value to our society. Small and medium private sector businesses and the middle class are being robbed blind by out of control government taxation, crony capitalism, absurd pay and benefits for public employees and wealth redistribution to economic leeches.
Every month I get robbed by the government when I pay property taxes. Every time I buy something in the store, the store and I get collectively robbed to the tune of 8.9% of the value of whatever I bought. That’s money I could have spent there or elsewhere. This man is nothing but a thief and anyone in government who stands and/or profits from this, is a thief as well.

Pretty sure that's what his neighbors are hoping.

You would think this kind if flagrant abuse by claiming over 18 hours of daily overtime on average would be an easy thing to prove as fraud, and the appropriate course of action taken if the agency was interested in doing so.

Obviously, they're not.

What does President Trump have to do with a demoncrap Governor Cuomo signing a Union MTA contract with the state of NY? I suppose in your mind di Blasio commuter tax is Trumps fault too. All this is a result of bad fiscal management by demoncraps and their buying of Union votes.

Since this MTA workers overtime scam has been exposed they are now investigating him to see if charges are warranted. They figured out he could not have worked 18 1/2 hours per day 365 days per year and have had time to drive home, shower, eat and sleep then drive back to work all in the remaining 5 1/2 hours remaining in the day, especially when his neighbors state he was home during workdays working around his home. Letís see if charges are actually filed against him or will the union protect him.

Gov't jobs, if u can't beat them join them. Seriously, either it's some fraud or he's on-call. Cops, firefighters, traffic control and others all get the same thing. A firefighter said, they decided to give current people overtime rather than hire new people....

For example, this fall in Los Angeles, the Rams, USC football, Laker, Clippers and possibly the Dodgers may all have games over a short 3-4 day period. Guys have to work their regular hours and say I will volunteer for all of it. That's in addition to any other special events going on.......oh, the Kings too

Actually, a $168,000 a year pension is MODEST by NYC and NYS standards. We have lots more making much more.

The question is how much of a "pension spike" did he get ? If this guy only has 20 years of service and made $120,000 a year, then the "spike" is alot.

No I believe thatís an exaggeration. However I work for a transit agency and know of many that have worked 14-16 hour days 6-7 days a week. I think itís sad that some feel they need to work that much. There is way more to life.

There's exaggerating, then there's 10 hours of overtime per day for 365 days per year. Even a robot would require more downtime for maintenance. This is pure theft and no other way to phrase it.

With the new kids refusing overtime, issues of child care and everything else they claim. those that want overtime get it...

I have a neighbor who is 57 and has worked doubles for the last 4 years at the city.
He said the new kids only want to work the minimum - no OT, no weekends and take all the sick days and vacation they can.
He is working 15 hour days 7 days a week. He will retire at 62 with a great pension. (if he makes it)
He even only took 1 week vacation of the 4 he had , to earn extra money.

They called him while he was on vacation to come in - no one wanted to work ..

He made $461,646 last year.

$344,147 was Overtime.

He will retire with a $14,000 per month pension, plus benefits and Social Security.

Why do Officials let someone get away with this?

shouldn't take much effort by a competent account to check the payroll records of his last 4 years, the numbers and records are either verifiable or there aren't . . .
