Welcome,

You should get an AIM for your car, you would not believe what you can learn from that book. Alos if you need the routing of you vacuum line, you can go online and order a free, either an eckler's, mid america, corvette america catalog,

Welcome and good luck as you get the kinks out.
"Winkie" looks like she has some nice rims.
Don't worry - a C3 without headlight vacuum issues just wouldn't
be a C3.

"Won't go down" - usually not easily repaired with a seal kit.
My guesses (in order of hope) are
1 - cracked, broken, or disconnected vacuum hose
2 - broken vacuum relay (between headlights - just in front of hood)
3 - broken headlight vacuum actuator (big metal can behind
headlights - just in front of hood).

Welcome,

Here's a link to help

http://www.corvettemagazine.com/2002...s/lights-1.asp

And here's another one

if it isn't on the vacuum section, look to the left and click it.

Welcome coolmom. :seeya :seeya Before you do anything, get yourself the 1977 Assembly Manual (AIM) and the 1977 GM Service manual. These publications will help you through just about any problem. Availabe through most vette parts catalog vendors.
Good Luck
Eddie

If you have a digital camera, make sure you use it plenty. They are very helpful when you start to put everything back together. Also very helpful sometimes when you want to come here and ask a question.

Have fun with your car and welcome to the best forum on the net.

Yes....welcome to the forum...and vette ownership. Before you start on your headlight problem...make sure you have plenty of aspirin around. Mine dogged me for a solid month until I figured out that the fellow who owned it before me went into it. One easy thing to remember about the headlights is that both sides are identical in operation and design. Simply change the lines from one side to the other at the vacuum switches and actuators to determine the problem. Don't let removing and re-kitting the actuators trouble you...it's easy and cheap enough. Just take your time. :)
