Am I looking at the single pic right? That airfilter needs to be move into the FA stream. It looks like it is right behind the radiator....you will get nothing but hot air....is that just a prelim shot? I am sure Ed is on top of it. :thumbs:

The location of the air cleaner isn't optimum, as it was drawing from hot underhood air. We are making a new panel that seals off the filter so it's only able to draw cool outside air. The car is all together, and we are tying up a lot of loose ends, but we will be driving it in the next day or so. A lot of things that were supposed to be already done on this car were not, so it took a little longer than expected to get to this point.
There's a lot of discussion as to whether the T76 will be big enough to make the power we're looking for on this 408. I think it will, others say no way, so I guess we will just have to see:thumbs: Ed http://vetteweb.com/toc/vemp_0706_cover.jpg |

Your backpressure #'s since I see your using a standard T76 from Turbonetics will be around 50-70psi with about 18-20psi of boost. Going to a 76GTS will bring them down only slightly to maybe 45-55psi or so. You don't have enough turbine for 750rwhp and doing it efficiently. The compressor will handle it albeit choking, but it will get there. Run the consumption charts vs PR vs compressor maps first. Then that will give you a starting point. Your best bet is to slow turbine speed down by going with a larger comp wheel, or do both and go larger on comp wheel and turbine wheel. Also a T6 would be the best combination. |

I agree with what many have said about turbo sizing.. Since I am on the Supra Forum often I have seen a lot of new T4 turbo's in the 80mm to 81mm range that are very promising. If a 3.0L motor can hit 1000rwhp easily with a Sound Performance new 81mm T4 turbo you should be able to hit that easily with much less boost. I am not saying that it would be efficient, but I am saying it is doable.. If you get a chance have Ed P. take a look over in the SF and maybe SP can do something for you guys. SP is also working on a C6Z06 at this moment..
