I would likely go with the vredestein's! I've read a few reviews about them, and people seem to really like them. Nice tread pattern, great high-speed stability, good wet/dry traction.

I just tend to shy away from sumi's for my vette (although they get reasonable reviews as well).

Alright, Vredesteins it is! I can't wait! I'll order them this Saturday after I sell my sawblades :lol:

I went with the AFS package deal with the vred's and 315's and I really like the look. Much better than stock IMO. I will comment on the vred's though. At first I didn't really like them but after a while they grew on me. I like the tread pattern and love the rain performance but the eagle f1 tires seem to shed water better. (I live in Oregon and see more rain than anyone) ;)
If I had to do it over again, I'd go with either the F1's again or I might even buck up for the mega-expensive BFGs. I'm partial to F1's but only because they stick to the road like glue but I didn't have much luck on high speed passes with those tires. The Vred's feel stable at 140 mph. They do have a more round profile than the Eagle F1 which feels like they roll a bit in the corners but anything in comparison to the eagles would naturally. I'll also add that the Vreds don't stick out quite as far outside the wheel well which was a huge plus to me. I don't like tires sticking out! These tires fit super under my car. I will keep the wheel/tire size for the future.

If I stand directly over the rear, I can just barely see rubber and that's the way I want it. :thumbs:

Thanks , AFS chrome ZR-1's 17x9.5 & 17x11 with GS offset (Deep lug). Tires are GY GS-D3 275/40/17 front & 315/35/17 rear . DRM coilovers so ride height can be adjusted .
I think you will need a different rear offset for a 86 .

There's another thread, I think its the wheel thread, not tire and JDC's car is in there somewhere. I forget what page and I'm not looking for it now, but that car is badass! If you're looking for wheels and tires, that thread has just about every wheel combo with color and year combo. It should be a sticky IMO. But, yeah, that car would even get me laid.

I'm glad I could help.;) I did countless hours of research and god knows how many posts on here asking about this and that and was pretty confident myself but was still very skeptical. I REALLLLLY didn't want my car to look like crap and I'm very pleased with the results. As said before, all I really need is to get er' a little lower for the stance I want.

Alignment specs will most likely vary from car to car but it's to factory spec. (maybe a point or 2 off on the driver side--shim) I had Les Schwab tires realign my car 4 times! Yes, I had to have my car drive straight AND the damn steering wheel inline too. It just bugs me to see a wheel all cock-eyed. The wider tires will rut-steer more than normal but it's to be expected.

Yeah, nothing against Megadeath, Metallica, etc..I just love the darker face-smashing metal that's not so mainstream... different strokes :)
