The C6 Z06 07 Im looking at took delivery in 01/07 so I guess I should be fine then since I'm sure the actual build date was earlier than that.

Thanks tho!

timmyZ06 09-05-2011 04:45 PM

well it look like i will drive a 07 z06:D I just closed the deal with the guy its simply too good to get over it. 42000$ for a black 2lz with nav with
23 000 kms on the clock. I hope it wont have issues, its my first vette so lets hope it will be great!!!

thanks for all yours input!

now what's next???? it already sport a m2w switch
im thinking about a zr1 front lip/side skirt and rear spoiler and maybe some wheels too:rock:

Replace the shocks with Bilstein Sport $320, DRM Bilsteins $450 and group buy going on now, Phadt $700, Johnny O'Connell, etc.. You will find they settle the back end down on bumps and hard cornering.

Replacing the Goodyear ROF's will improve it, many choices, search this forum.

You mean the tires, im looking for the nitto's or ps2 i heard alot of good stuff about bfgoodrich

AzDave47 09-05-2011 05:25 PM

I have Nitto NT05's, would recommend 285/35-18 front and 335/30-19 rear. Nitto also makes Invo's that would be better in the wet than the NT-05s's. PS2's are great and expensive. I'm hoping M comes out with their new Pilot Supersports in Z06 sizes, but no date really set for them. Many on this forum like Bridgestones. I don't see that BFG makes tires in the Z06 19" rear size (may be wrong), but no comments on this forum about them.

Im getting nervous about all that bs concernig valves/head problem b/c im about to buy a car without a warranty well it ends in 3 months so is it founded or it is some random problem.

AzDave47 09-05-2011 08:28 PM

2 or 3 threads going now on the issue. Plenty there to read and form an opinion, don't need more here.

For reference my build date was 11/26 and delivery date was Mid December. I don't know if two weeks is the norm or not...

AzDave47 09-06-2011 01:42 AM

My build date was 7/08 for my 09Z with first delivery 13 months later.

Ok... I have an 07 LMB Z.. built in 3/07.. that being said.. this is the worst month to have a Z built.. however.. not one issue.. with my Z.

She has 33,000 miles, no track, or drag.. however some great drives in the Santa Monica Canyons..

I just put a Killer Bee 2.. Jason's Katech rear spoiler, waiting for the C/F front spoiler..

I just love this car.. it always gets love from everyone..

Good luck with your buy Timmy and don't let some threads drive you crazy. If you look hard enough, you will probably be able to find a problem with everything. Some random issues and some blown out of proportion.

If you are concerned about the warranty, go get an aftermarket warranty. I just picked up an '07 LMB Z06 (11K miles) that I bought from CarMax. I was concerned about the warranty running out while still making payments, so I purchased an extedended "MaxCare" warranty for piece of mind.

I also had to pay much more that you did, so congrats on the sweet deal! I think you made the right decision. Just don't read too many threads and you won't care so much :)

I ordered the ZR1 splitter, skirts and spoiler and can't wait for them to arrive so I can make my car stand out compared to stock Z06's. I am a little concerned with the clearance issues as I have to drive over a road with the 20 mph speed bumps, but think I'll be fine...I was concerned enough with these bumps that when I was test driving the car, I drove out of the way to make sure I could go over the bumps (stock) without scraping.

Since the ZR1 splitter has only about a 1/8" less clearance, I think I should be fine. But it does stick out further in the front, and that is the low point...so I have my fingers crossed that I don't shatter the CF splitter on my first drive home from install.

I go very slow over any bumps and raised portions of road just to be safe. :hide:

Thanks make sure to post pics
I just spoke with my dealer, appenrently i can buy a gmpp even thought my 3 years ended.
Ill let everybody knows

AzDave47 09-06-2011 05:03 PM

Be careful, all the vendors on this site require the GMPP purchase before the 3/36 ended. Make sure you know what you are buying, it may not be GMPP.

I have a black '07 Z06, purchased new in October of 2006. It now has 34,000 miles. Had a transmission/rearend issue in May of 2010 at 25,000 miles, repaired under warranty, no other issues.

Besides going slow over bumps, the "secret" is to approach driveways and bumps at about a 45 degree angle if you can. :yesnod:

I need to pay an extra for a platinium inspection and registration.
24 months with 100$ deductible for a full bumper to bumper and road assistance is 1548.98$ cad. Maybe canadian gm laws are different because it is possible and ill buy it this week.
Btw i have to pay fees to transfert US warranty to canadian, inspection fee and platinium resgistration fee and its done . All ofvthe above is 500$ in total which isnt that bad.

timmyZ06 09-07-2011 05:00 PM

for street use i recommend stock ride height...lowering and alignment will help handling on track but i nevered liked driving on street lowered..
