thanks for the pics.
it's funny how this http://imageshack.us/a/img856/1425/cas8.jpg makes this look old and outdated even before it's released. http://imageshack.us/a/img694/4967/cas1.jpg Not to put the Viper down but since the C7 came out I find myself not so sure how I feel about the new Viper:leaving: The C7 has a fantastic modern look about it Soft flowing long subtle curves and crisp (paper fold) edge styling is where it's at right now... in modern car design. |

I'll take the Vanquish.
Oh, and the MP4-12c HS edition as well. And the girl with the tool belt. |
Couldn't help but notice...
...yet another Camaro in a movie? That is quite the blower.

I love the new C7, but I sort of like the rear end of the Viper. :D |

Chevy only had one total, there was a line of them by the Road America stand, all different generations.
I tried to get a friend to bring in his beautiful '54 but he decided against that, a decision I respect. I and maybe 100 or so others had the pleasure of a private showing of the C7 early yesterday morning at the Chicago Auto Show prior to the public opening. Our hosts were several of the GM Corvette team leader, and they went over many numbers (not the final curb weight, HP and torque ratings, etc. because things are still being tweaked), and they kept the discussion in the present, not what may be in the pipeline, e.g,. DCT, future HP options, etc. They discussed the many, many design changes (technical and body design) and the reasoning and impact behind each one. I gathered that the C7 with the Z51 option (the red car of the two on circuit) is the best handling Corvette for the street ever built. Now that is saying something. The cd is lower, the lift reduction is improved, even the wheel design with the valve placement offsetting the weight of the TPMS unit to eliminate wheel weights for balancing, was taken into consideration. There were so many tidbits of information discussed that I certainly didn't catch them all nor will I try to recite them here. The tone was apparent that the car's feel while driving it will take a back seat to no car. Time will tell, but I can't wait to feel that car on the road. I believe I along with other true car people will be delighted. Some people have dissed the car over the taillights, but anyone dismissing this car over some styling cue is going to miss the boat, IMHO. I think the 'Stingray' on the fenders is tacky, but that does not prevent me from understanding the major step forward taken by GM in bringing the C7 to us. |
I saw the C7 today at the Chicago Auto Show and I'm still on the fence. I'm not getting that lovin' feeling, but I'll probably change my mind.

I was at the Auto Show yesterday.
The C7 is a great looking car.....but nothing about it looks unique or different to me. It's as though I've seen every detail somewhere else before. It may be "better" or "nicer" (in somebody's opinion) in every way than my C6, but I still don't feel like I need to rush out and buy a C7. Maybe I'd feel more of a connection with it if the rear end looked more like a Corvette, and less like a Camaro. |
