I do not have a C7 ZO6 but do have a nice 2011 ZR1. As far as car shows go I have entered a few. If you go to a local classic car club show that invites all makes and years watch out for who is judging. The ones I have been to that are participant judged is a waste of time. They have worked out how to vote for each other so nobody but the older cars ever wins. Show after show it is the same people walking up for the awards. Not to say they don't have nice cars but plenty of newer deserving cars attending that IMHO should have an award. Now I did go to a show recently that brought in independent judges and plenty of awards were given to newer cars. If you don't care about awards by all means go and have fun. For me I am tired of helping to pay for their trophies. If the show has outside judges I will continue to attend. Just my 2 cents.

Judged shows have gone down hill over the last 30 years. It used to be a judged show meant your car was judged against a judging criteria and comments were made on the judging sheets while the judging was going on. Then they took off points based on the results of the judging. To start the judging each car had to go through a mechanical check and then be closed up with hood, doors and windows closed when the judges showed up.
Engine had one set of judges, interior had another set of judges and exterior had a different set of judges. Usually three to a group. The judges weren't allowed to touch your car but they could ask you to move things so they could see and even ask you to wipe your fingers in the fender wells to see if there was any dirt in the fender wells. They didn't confer with each other, they made their own evaluations and results were summarized to determine the places. It was very formal, very brutal and some people were insulted when judges pointed out problems with the car although they should have been grateful instead since each comment pointed to things they could correct which would make the car look better in general. Due to so many people not understanding corrective criticism and getting their noses bent out of shape when people were trying to help them car shows started to lose participants. Since then car shows have become popularity contests with slapdash participant judging or spectator judging which in the end means nothing whether you win or come in in last place (I have seen shows where the best car in the show came finished in last place because it wasn't a popular color or didn't have enough chrome). They aren't even worth washing your car to attend. Most nobody will notice whether you wash it or not. Bill |

Did you catch this sentence in the 2nd article?
"The power was more than adequate but not overwhelming, seeming not too far past a street Corvette." :leaving:  |
Sure thing, I found it in the 2nd article that was provided in post #15:
http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cult...-competizione/ Do Control F to find and type in "corvette". It will appear in this paragraph: "As I pulled out, muffler bypass open, the valvetrain medley and the exhaust's tenor rasp alone seemed worth the extra work. The power was more than adequate but not overwhelming, seeming not too far past a street Corvette. The brakes are phenomenal, " Please note I just clicked on the link to see what kind of HP and TQ the Ferrari has since it looks very beautiful and was a bit shocked to read the above paragraph. |
make sure you northeast guys come to the open house and show at Tune Time Performance on the 16th. My car will be there but like the rest of you guys not to be judged lol... i get a kick out of everyone waiting for the trophies at the end.. more power to them. i just like seeing the cars and talking to the people. That's why i love Carlisle so much.. the parade ends and we park in the street and i leave my car wide open for hours while i go and have dinner a block away.. Corvette fans and people are the BEST!!

FWIW The P4/5 has the stock Enzo powertrain of 660hp however it weighs less than the Enzo's 3,009 lbs. Best, Gene  |

I don't put my Z in car shows where it would have to be judged, however I do attend "Cruise Ins". Here's my car and a couple of Ferrari's that parked next to me. The one on the end is '17 488 GTB.
