Keep the shark bites. The top picture looks better than the round tub of plastic hanging there with the never used spare instead.

In 42 years, the “better safe than sorry” spare tire in the car I’m working on saw daylight for the first time. What appeared was a flat, dry rotted bias ply tire that was absolutely useless.
