:rock:the best thing to listen to is the sweet sound of that dual exhaust
|
I don't have music in the car yet but I'll be listening to a lot of 80s music in my 82. Def leopard, poison, cheap trick and after some 80s music I'll listen to some Eminem
|
I love the sound of my big block '70, but I also love music; trust me I drive for miles with no stereo playing.
My nearest sibling is my sister who is 9 years older than I am and I grew up listening to her music with her firiends, in a small college town in the mid '60s during the Vietnam war escalation (she graduated high school in '66) and this probably warpped me into what I am today. I actually still have the first LP I ever bought...Animals Animals, and every kid my age in the neigborhood thought I was totally outta control. The cool thing about music is that it creates a time stamp for a everything you ever experience in your life, good & bad. Vintage music takes you back to very specific moments in your personal timeline of life and that is what makes it so great. Ocassionally I'll hear a song on Sirus that even reminds me of a specific date with a girl over 30 years ago, but mainly for me it's about remembering old friends & great times that create a great momentary retreat from the stress of the daily grind. OK, enough of that...I rotate a few CDs ocassionally but, the CD case in the Vette contains a permanet library of CD's from these artists for crusing in the '70 and escaping to very specifc great memories in my life: Rolling Stones The Who Jimi Hendrix Bad Company Santana Neil Young CCR The Guess Who Grand Funk Railroad Deep Purple Foghat Traffic Joe Walsh Little Feat Moody Blues Bob Seger Jimmy Buffet AC~DC I've seen all but 2 of these bands live at least once, missed Hendrix and CCR. |
I was born in the 90s, but I LOVE the 80s.
I like some modern bands that bring back the 80s style, like Crashdiet. I listen to a lot of them in my '78 vette, and '79 Z28. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xer3Hh_SesI& http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfnIhcFDM3g& |
What ever I'm in the mood for, which ranges from AC/DC to Patsy Cline to Eminem to Avenged Sevenfold... I like it all.
|
From George Jones to Kid Rock and all the stuff that fits in between

My '73 has its own playlist. I use iTunes and eventually got around to rating all my songs. I created a playlist of all my top rated songs that were released in 1973.

Until I read this thread, I wasn't aware there was music after the early 60's. I do remember Slim Whitman - the greatest singer nobody knew! Didn't he have a 10 album record set of his million sellers for only $9.99 or something like that?
|
I met Slim Whitman late 70s early 80s ???? . i guess he was huge in europe, bigger than huge. throught the mists of time i don't remember the details but if i remember right they advertised his albums on TBS.
the guy is a nice, nice guy, a true gentleman. as far as i know he is still making records, althought i have not seen him in at least 30 years |
i remember Flatt and Scruggs from the beverly hillbillys...........and not the reruns
|
|
I currently have no antenna and can only pick up a current pop station real well. :ack: Occasionally, I can pick up my classic rock station
So most of the time it is just listening to the hum of the engine and exhaust or even better, I sing. One day a talent scout is going to hear me sitting at a stop light, and then it's big time :D  |

Not that I'm planning on getting one, but I told my wife that if I got a C4, I'd play nothing but 80's music.
What do owners of C3s typically play? Do you play whatever you like now or do you go vintage (Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, KC & the Sunshine Band)? Steppenwolf - For Ladies Only - Hey Lawdy Mama - Magic Carpet Ride http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xa6xquyj5X0 Motley Crue - Girls Girls Girls Theory Of a Deadman - Bad Girlfriend Free - All right now Steve Miller Band - Fly like an Eagle - Space Cowboy - Living in the USA Deep Purple - Space Truckin - Woman from Tokyo Ratt - Lay it down - Round and Round Steely Dan - FM Van Halen - Where have all the good time gone - Drop Dead Legs - Little Guitars ZZ TOP - Tush - La Grange - Cheap Sunglasses - Drive you Home Doors - Light my fire - Touch me - 20th Century Fox Foreigner Boston Peter Frampton AC/DC Eric Clapton / Cream Bad Company Those are all good starters.. |
AC/DC, Blondie, Queen... 1980! :D
