Thanks for all the comments guys. I appreciate it.

I can't stress enough how helpful this forum has been over the past few years. I tried to perform the installation on most of the mods and occassionaly ran into various technical/installation issues. I would be working the mod, run into a problem, post the question on the forum and take a 30-minute break (usually with an ice cold garage beer). I would then check the thread and would have 4-5 answers or suggestions.

After buying the car new off the dealer lot the summer of 2004, I kept it pretty much stock the first two years of ownership and that's when I discovered Corvette Forum and realized there were a lot of other people who really like Corvettes.

Then look what happened!

Very tastefully done.( Glad you didn't go for the black-wheel fad. )

Thanks. Medium Spiral Gray Metallic is a tricky color. At times, the paint sparkles due to the metallic flake, however sometimes it also can look very dark. I had a set of Ace Slick Hyperblack wheels mounted before my CCW polished wheels and noticed that at some angles the wheels also looked very dark and did not help the look. My original polished 5-spoke wheels had a nice "pop" to them against the MSG paint, so that's another reason I went with the CCW polished wheels.

I think the black or gunmetal wheels work better with the brighter colors like yellow, red and blue.

They are the former ACA Housings. I purchased them as well as the HID bulbs, ballasts, harnesses and other LED bulbs/electronics from JW Motoring.

Carravaggio Spoiler?! You really need to start coming up with some original ideas and stop copying everybody else!

Thanks for the extra pictures. I need to take some more shots at those angles. The black really pops against your yellow. I know you can't really see it in my pictures, however the black I used is actually a metallic flake that matches up to the MSG flake.

I would love me some 700+ HP, however I am not going to chase the HP Gods on the C5. When the time comes, I hope to get to 700+ HP in a Z06 whether it in the C6 flavor or C7 flavor. I just don't want to trade in the C5 vert for it. They don't make cars that look as good as the C5 anymore so I want the best of both worlds!

Fantastic, they look great :yesnod:. I just completed one order with JW, have another in with him, but may have to ask about those housings. Thanks for the info..

Awesome mods. Tastefully done, like many have mentioned.

Where did you get the seats and roll hoops from? How much did that set you back?

jbondfl 09-20-2012 12:33 PM

Beautiful car.

So tell me again how you got into STOCK class at the Pier show. LOL!!!

Toque 09-20-2012 01:42 PM

Man, was that some unnecessary drama or what?! I've registered for only two shows in my life. The first one was about 4 years ago and you had to register in order to get in and look at the other cars. At the time my car was basically all stock, minus the seat hoops and ACE Slick wheels and wasn't even detailed that day. The second show was the Pier show with the mods displayed. The guy next to me was crying and wouldn't even talk to me the rest of the show. :crazy2:

Thanks. I got the chrome seat hoops from West Coast Corvettes. I liked that they had a larger diameter than most of the other hoops. Tricky installation as you have to be careful not to damage the gas tanks or the carbon cannister. Below is the link:

I got the seats and matching shift knob/boot, e-brake handle/boot, center console lid and sunvisors from Vette Essentials. They also supplied the matching gray leather for the D-style steering wheel from DSV. Their seat covers are pricier than some other vendors, however after seeing a full Vette Essentials interior in an anniversary coupe at a show a few years ago I was sold on their quality.
