Interesting lighting that you have in your shop. Is it purpose built for this type of work?

Kinda, alot of detailers started using it because it does a good job at showing paint imperfections and things of that nature. I would say it got started as an aesthetic thing but its evolved into a go to for a lot of wrap/detail shops

Small update, car is ceramic coated (less the hood and bumper, still waiting on the material to get here) and the rear end of the car is pretty much reassembled. Also did a quick little update to the fuse box cover with some aluminum and cerakote, a little tribute to my uncle who passed a few years ago. He loved Vettes and unfortunately never got to see this one... seemed like a nice tribute.

Pretty cool tribute to your uncle.

Nice tribute to your uncle and the wrap turned out great.

Love your car!!
What a great look.

StayinStock 01-23-2024 07:16 AM

Thanks man! Its killing me wanting to get it outside and look at it in the sunlight lol. Pretty happy with this color choice. I'm hoping I'll be able to do the wheels still before spring. That should really tie it all together.

StayinStock 01-24-2024 07:37 PM

Big update, finally got it outside to check out the color... she's coming together... Unfortunately pics just don't do it justice.

Looks great, the color shows even better outside. Seems like a lot of work, must be glad you're nearing completion.

Yep car looks good. Curious if the coke box is in working order and full of beer.

C6_Prodigy 01-24-2024 09:52 PM

Wow, even with grey skies that wrap really shows a lot of depth and pop. Really nice!

RocketRob 01-24-2024 11:25 PM

Two things: 1) I think your uncle would be so proud of the level of skill that you have with wrapping your car as well as the vision that you have with what you want your car to be, and 2) I had a sneaking suspicion that you couldn’t wait to get that baby out in the light!
You Vette looks beautiful now, I can’t wait to see it in some strong sunlight. Thanks for sharing your progress with us.

Thanks man! yep for sure lol, the funny thing is I can wrap a customer car in a week but when it comes to my own stuff I struggle to get it done in a month... Light at the end of the tunnel atleast (until I rip it back apart to do the suspension and brakes lol)

Thats a future project lol, it was my grandfathers. All the original parts are there just need to find the time to work on it. Its a westinghouse model so it uses water circulation rather than a newer style refrigeration unit. Pretty cool unit. I think the plan is to just clear over the patina... I think it tells a better story that way.

Thanks man! yeah I wasn't really looking at it when I got out, walked back to the garage to grab something and when I turned around and looked I had to stop and have a woah moment. Thrilled with it so far.

Thanks man! I like to think that he would. He was a huge fan of my c5 and unfortunately never got the opportunity to give him a ride in it before he passed (he was a vietnam veteran and paralyzed from the waist down, his dream was always to have a Vette but life dealt him another card) I like to think somehow he's riding shotgun with me. Hopefully we'll get this bumper and hood done here next week and really get her out in the sunlight and get some professional shots.

It looks soooo good man.

2 words with that green. Gold Wheels, or that anthircite? kinda like a bronze, looks amazing on green in my opinion.

Tho i am a 80's baby and am partial to gold.

I'm about to have my car wrapped in a basic gloss yellow (similar to the c6 yellow) and ive got anthracite wheels and red accents. sometimes crazy color combos look good! maybe keep the calipers as is.
