I have the GT Factory kit on my car. I love the kit as the doors go up higher than most and from what it seems do now hang out as far on the sides. Bad part is unless you can find one GT does not offer this kit anymore.
I FINALLY sent mine in to GT Factory for the Fix-Chaser mod. :) They haven't sent them back yet, and I'm considering putting them for sale, but can't decide. It looks like they still have them on their site though: http://www.gtfactory.jp/bolton.htm Scroll down to "Chevy Corvette". I think of all the different kits available, GT Factory looks the best when opened fully. My car is a DD though, so that's why I'm having second thoughts. :) Cheers, Vaughn |

Presumably their "fit any car" still means it'd still need welding? |
Your thread got me thinking about the lambo doors AGAIN.
I would only do it IF you got the kit that allows the doors top open really high, like almost vertically. The other thing that kinda sucks, is how far you have to open the door before lifting them up. It seems like you can almost get in and out without having to lift the door. :blueangel: |

It shocks alot of people when you do raise them up. Here is a pic of mine with the adjustment points i have them set at. This is as high as i have mine set to go. Attachment 48157505 |

Do the windows have to be down for the doors to open vertically?
|
I hate them . They make the corvette look cheap and stupid . Lambo doors on a vette = molesting a vette.

People don't get your tit in a ringer, the topic/question on this forum is "Lambo Doors??? Good idea or not"... It was not 'I like Lambo doors on Corvettes". The topic is asking forum members for their opinion, and you got it. Nobody is bashing if anyone else is wrong for putting them on your vehicle, if you like it, cool, do it, that is what America is all about. But don't bash people if they don't, they were just responding to the topic question and thus voicing their opinion to that question. That's cool also..

Take a fairly costly car and install something that is used as much as your doors and spend $400.00 - answer seems clear - at least to me.:lurk:

I have them on mine. I have a few friends that have them also. DO NOT BUY A $400 KIT!!! you will have problems. I had a friend buy that kit on ebay and had nothing but trouble. I installed the dream car custom kit, and truly feel its the best kit. With this kit you DO NOT cut on your car. Every other kit has too trim the fenders.
Just like said before, when you go to a car show, you will be the center of attention! Get ready to be asked a million questions!!! Matt http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...p/DSC04135.jpg http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...p/DSC04209.jpg http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/b...p/DSC04239.jpg OMG - I this must be why I was born - am now the center of attention. |
Whats that supposed to mean?

Go for it. There will always be haters out there. I hate when people say that lambo doors are not even on Lambo anymore. Everybody says that because they are talking about cheap lamborghini gallardo. That is the rich man every day car. Compare the corvette with lambo door to a lamborghini murcielago. Enough said. Both doors go UP!!!
BTW I bought my 99 vert June of 09. I'm a 1st time vett owner but the one thing that grab my attention was the doors. The previous owner bought the 1st ever bolt on kit for corvettes. He never had any problems with them. http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._7777685_n.jpg http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._5868928_n.jpg http://photos-e.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._2525024_n.jpg |
