cool. can they be painted? they don't have a uniform black color, so they will have to be covered up.

jdmvette 04-22-2008 08:01 PM

also, how are you fastening them to the car?

jdmvette 04-22-2008 08:03 PM

another thing, if you flipped the two rear guards, can they be mounted to the front side of the rear wheelwell?

Sure look like fingerprints all over those rears to me...

Cool looking product btw

BADMFR 04-22-2008 08:21 PM

Those look terrible on the new Z's and can't imagine you putting them on a C5. IMHO.

moserbe 04-22-2008 08:58 PM

I can't decide whether I like the look or not.

the pics you show might look like fingerprints but these don't.

and if they were fingerprints i would think the vendor would wipe them clean before they posted pics of the product they're trying to sell.

I'm running 305's on the rear and these guards will help stop more chips. I think they look better than the other options. I'm waiting to see how the people who have ordered them like them. If it a  .. I'm in!!!

Vetteman Jack 04-22-2008 09:55 PM

Those look good. Best of luck with the product.

Let me clear one thing first about the pictures.

Our new confirmation sample is in prime (grey color) not in black. We didn't have time to paint it in black and then installed on Chris' car. So we just use the old pictures to do some touch up to make it darker. So please don't focus on the color. The final actual products will be in very even color like our C6 Splash Guard.

For us, what we concern the most is if the parts fit right, not the color is even or not. The color issue is very minor to us. As long as we spray same paint it will come out completely even.

Now to answer about how to install the parts---------

For Front Wheel, we reuse the two existing screw holes and we use 3M tape for the upper tapering section.

For Rear Wheel, you need to drill one screw from underneath. Then the whole vertical wheel well will be secured by 3M tape + 3M adhesive promotor.

At the upper corner of the wheel well we do pre-drill one extra hole with extra screw that we provide for extra security if customer want to go for it. (it's just an option to car owner to decide)

Yes, our parts are ready to paint if you want to. But most of customers are just using the way it is.

Cozmo 04-22-2008 10:11 PM

I think they look pretty good. The price is out of the range that I would spend for them though.

Good luck with the sales.

I think you'll be happy. Jersey and the guys at Apsis are very concerned about the fit and my car spent a many hours at their place so they could get them to fit correctly.

The front splitter in the other thread looks great too.

JohnTheStigGalt 04-23-2008 12:34 AM

I'd be really interested to see how well these fit the L5 flares. Judging by how much fitting guys are having to do to make the C6Z ones fit, I don't think the price is unreasonable, especially if they won't need to be painted. Will these be available in carbon fiber?

I agree that fit is important and they look pretty good. I went with Clear Shield instead, but would have considered the guards.

kww 04-23-2008 06:50 AM

I would also like to know if they will fit C5's with the L5 flares-without goes through the problems of cutting the stock C6 Z06 guards.

Personally I am not familiar with L5 flares. But our design is to fit on the normal C5 wheel well perfectly. You can try it and if it won't fit for your L5 flares then you can return it.

Yes, it will be available in Carbon Fiber. We won't stock the Carbon but we can take your order and specially make it for you.

I think they look good. May have to get a few sets.

MY rear fenders and fascia could use some thing like that to fill in the gap.

The only thing I don't like with the C6 ones is that they are made and molded out of a gray in color material and then coated in black paint. Well the only problem with them being painted black is that the rocks that get kicked up while your driving chip the paint and then you see the gray material underneath that it is made from. :ack:

The factory ones are made out of a flexible plastic and aren't painted so the can't chip. Just for all your information.

BUGZ 04-24-2008 03:10 PM

:lurk: I would like to see them on other vetts & colors.

ILM-Express 04-24-2008 06:37 PM

I would love to see the black ones on a white Vette:thumbs:

MR.WaynesWorld 04-27-2008 08:54 PM

I'm seriously considering these for both front and back. We just got back from a trip out to oaks and this is what I found on my new molded in brake ducts this morning.... :willy: :willy:

http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...8/DSC01890.jpg

I guess my fat front tires are kicking up some stones... Either that or I'm going to buy some clear tubing at HD and make my own temp stone guard for the duct lip.....

Congratulations... worst I have seen!

Are you sure you were not the victim of a drive-by? That is really cool how the rocks flew off the tires, avoided the fender, then looped around and got the air duct from behind - mystery:eek:

Mr. Lau 04-29-2008 12:26 AM

These look really good! On a Vert, it doesn't look swell, but imagine.....for a second with me.

Pitch Black coupe, TS frost, Quarter panel flares, SpecterWerkes rear, and these splash guards...

These add a very nice, yet subtle boost to the look of the car. Gives it a meaner stance.

MR.WaynesWorld 04-29-2008 08:29 PM

We didn't release any kit yet. But we have an air shipment in airport waiting for custom to release. I think we have some kits in the shipment. (I don't have shipping documents handy so I am not 100% sure)

P.S. Today I check our shipping documents but unfortunately there is no C5 Splash Guard in this shipment.

MR.WaynesWorld 05-18-2008 09:32 PM

That all depends on how you look at things. I got sever rock chips on my rear brake ducts which if I had to fit them every year would cost me $400 to repair..... And they are not even on the car three months... If these stop that them I'm happy....

There is some special paint stuff that ACP puts on top of the paint for race cars that prevents rock chips, forgot what it is called.

I went over to Apsis today. First, they guys there are great. I spoke to Jersey yesterday and meet with Mike this morning. Top notch guys! I picked up the short Z06 style splash guards and after looking at the thread I'm starting to think I made an error in judgement. They short units have more of a "drop" behing the tire, so should block way more stuff from getting at the rear quarters. The long units didn't have as much material dropping down behing the wheel (if they did I would've bought them immediately) but now looking at the pics of the long units installed here I'm having second thoughts. Mike even said I can return them to swap for the long ones if I want! I just hate the idea of having to pull them off! BTW, they showed me a set of carbon fiber Z06 style splash gaurds. If I wanted to spend lots of $$$$ it'd go on these. They are absolutely beautiful!!! Let me tell you, even with the big ticket price I was very, very tempted!!!

I don't know, but I'd guess real soon??? I'm just glad that I live close enough to just go over there. I also bought a set of the short version (I couldn't make up my mind!!!   without having the car) but sent the long set to MacMulkin to install. If anyone thats waiting wants a set of the short ones that'll ship TOMORROW, let me know. You can have them for my cost. I'll pick up the shipping!!!

MR.WaynesWorld 05-29-2008 07:43 PM

I'm about 158 miles away from them. If I knew they would be there I may just drive out and get them myself.... Want to get them on my car so I can get my brake ducts repaired. Hate seeing the rock chips on them...:willy:

Wayne,

There is a special coating that can be appled to the paint that will prevent the chips.

Give Kerry a call over at ACP, as he uses on a bunch of the race cars. I'm going to have it done to my car.

I just received my front splash guards and wanted to take a moment and say how pleased I am with the pieces. Very nice as advertised. Jersey was great to work with and all delivered as promised.

I was a bit leary given the price tag, but well worth the investment IMHO to help with the chips.
