What color cars do you hate?
I hate ANY car in silver which is the most popular color sold across the car spectrum. The next color I don't like is white (but I think vettes look good in white). Black I think looks good on anything. If you have a silver vette, don't hold it against me. I have yellow which is my favorite. Some people hate yellow.
|
It depends on the car. I'm not a huge fan of white, but a buddy of mine has a white GS with black and red interior and red fender hash stripes.
That car is sharp. Different cars/shapes do well or suck with different colors. p.s. I hate pink cars. |
:iagree: It seems like 80% of the cars on the road are silver, gray, black, beige or white. I like my cars a little more colorful. But the Vette looks good in any color.
|
Can I love and hate the same color?

In before :trainwreck:

That is me with Black. I love black on your car, but not on mine. Black looks great for five minutes or five feet - which ever comes first - then it needs detailing again! (Except for Wolfdogs - he can get 30 minutes or 30 miles!)
I agree. I once had a black sports car. Once. |
I don't hate any color, but I like these
|
Most are okay with me but I would never buy white or Eco friendly green.

I hate that lime green color on the new Camaro SS.
|
Not a hater . . . But I find white or grey cars somewhat tedious. That's grey, as opposed to silver. Frankly, I prefer colors!
Black is way too impractical for a driver, and my cars are drivers. |
Never been a fan of Gold colored cars. :nonod: But put that color on a vette and I'm sure it would look good.

I'm with johnodrake.
I love OTHER people's black cars. |
:ack:purple vettes:ack:

Silver
I really don't like silver cars because the millenium really over did it with silver cars ! I guess maybe next is red . I always liked the white and blue combo .
|
Red

Most colors come in MANY, MANY variants/shades/tones. It all depends on the shape of the car and the exact color. I've seen some grey cars that look drab and other shades (especially metallic) that look GREAT.
I love my Cyber Grey. :Dhttp://i987.photobucket.com/albums/a.../1002-0317.jpg |
I really "dislike" reds, silver and orange!

I hate the Grabber Orange on the Mustang. It looks exactly like the lines painted on the road. It's an ugly color.
I also don't like olive green on any car. |

I have had just about all of the colors. Every time I have had a Bright Red it was vandalized so as a result I like Bright Red the least...
|
Tan. :ack:
|
White and blue.
|
It depends on the car too. I like yellow on my vette, but I think it would look horrible on a Cadillac CTS for example. I'm not a big fan of baby blue since it reminds me of babies (and I went to USC and it reminds me of UCLA). I can think of one car pink might look good on: the recent Ford Thunderbird they stopped making (with the rounded corners). Might look like a car from the 50s. Too bad those cars were garbage.

Years ago I hated silver, but met a car designer who told me why he liked silver, and since then, have a real appreciation for the colour (doubt I'd buy silver, to subtle for me) What the silver does is show the car for the lines of the car. Take a look at an old Porsche 550 in silver, and you'll see what he was taking about. A yellow 550 would not show the lines as well. Regardless, the post is what colour (oops us post Color) I hate brown! I can't thinkg of any car that looks good in brown.... |

Black, beige, gold, puke color, etc.
|
White and baby blue are my least favorite car colors.
Black is OK, but in the summer it absorbs heat too much when parked outside with the windows closed. Favorite color is medium metallic blue, but its hard to find. |

I hate JSB. :ack:

well lets go the other way. take one model vette so they all look the same. have one in every color thats available and drive them all down the street. which one will get the most attention? the one nobody pays attention to will be the worst color. no offense but probably the silvers and greys imo.

Pretty much any shade of brown, beige, or tan. That goes for inside and out.

Like many have stated, it depends on the car. For example, generally speaking I do not like red cars, but I love Ferrari, and if I was in a position to purchase one, Red would be the only color I would look at. I love dark grey, but not on c5 corvettes. The list goes on and on, but in my book the car is more important than the color.
|
Orange
|
Hate is a strong word. I think Corvettes look good in any color........
|
I do not care for grey or silver.I like something that has a bit more personality.I have Crystal Red on my 2010 GS,but I do like the Jetstream Blue and the Supersonic Blue. Black looks cool on any car and I have seen some with white and I actually liked them.Red,is ok but their seems to be a lot of them.
When driving, all the cars you see are so mundane looking and I think the Vettes should stand out. But it all boils down to,personal preference.Further,I don't care what color someone else has.....it is a Vette, and that is the key !!! |

Obviously you didn't see my post #38. :willy: I just installed the new wheels and it hadn't had a chance to settle yet and lowering is the next step. :yesnod: |
I find that some people like bright colors and some don't. You can almost divide people by bright colors. Some people will only buy black/grey/white/silver. While others will only buy yellow/blue/red/orange. Interesting I think. My bother will only buy silver vehicles. I prefer bright colors on sports cars.
|
I have had 3 blue vettes, one tan vette, one black vette and now a silver vette. The blues "pop" when clean, the black stands out the most, when clean, but the silver always looks clean! I will never have another black, just because of up-keep....hard to keep clean. Silver does not stand out like some of the others, but I'm happy with it!
|
Personally, I like a wide variety of colors, and don't hate any. I virtually always change color when I buy an new car, and color is a tough decision for me because I like so many. I generally prefer the more unique colors over the more common color. There are some colors I think look good on other peoples cars (yellow for example), but I don't know if I'd ever have one in my garage.
|
There is a recent trend in metallic browns that I think looks like... well crap.
I just don't think a car should be brown. http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs40/f/20...irdSoaring.jpg |
Black is the worst even though that is the most popular on the C6. When I see them on the street they always look like they haven't been washed in months. Silver, on the other hand, can be driven daily on wet streets and still look good even going a month or more between washings. But my all time worst looking color for a Corvette was gold. Maybe that's why GM hasn't put gold on a C6.
|
I can't stand strange colors that alot of special editions come in. For instance, the lime green or purple daytona Chargers :ack:
|
Silver is not a color I would go out of my way to buy. My 65 coupe is silver. I never liked the color. I also have a white car, two black cars, and two red cars.
|
Black!! I love black cars. They look sexy when they're clean. Hard to keep clean, but I love washing cars. It's therapeutic to me
|
Not a fan of Silver or Yellow Vettes.
|
No Silver
No White No Red |
1st on the list is yellow:ack:
2nd Silver 3rd white, in my area white is every where, oh wait cause its snow LOL 4th orange yuk but hey i luv red what do i know,,,, :canadaflag: |

Black, but then it is actually a love/hate relationship.
|
My love/hate Corvette color is orange; I love the pictures of the AO cars posted here but I'd never want it in my garage.
In general, some shades of yellow are scary, I don't like dull medium gray (Mercedes has that), med beige metallics and dark sh!t brown. |

It depends on the car. I hate yellow and red on Corvettes, but I love it on Ferraris and I love yellow on Lamborghinis. Hate red on any Lambo after the Diablo, but love it on Countachs and Miuras.
|
"Hate" is a bit strong...I've seen gorgeous looking Corvettes in every color. That said some C6 colors I'm not fond of. I couldn't hack having a yellow or orange car day after day. Metallic silver looks fine but in general silver cars don't do much for me. A white C6 (with black accents) can look great IMO. I like red Corvettes but not all reds. Torch red is too orange for my tastes. I like Crystal Red Metallic and of course my favorite....Magnetic Red Metallic II.
To each their own.....vive la différence! |
pink
light, light blue beige olive tan brown wood-grain (unless it's real wood) |
I don't hate most colors, but I've the last 6 pickups have been black and the upkeep in minnesota sucks with winter and crap they put on the roads. 24 hours after waxing the truck, it looks like a film of dust found it.
I like prime colors on vettes, yellow, white, red, blue, black, orange. Did GM ever put that beautiful metallic dark green on the C6 series? |

The vette looks good in all colors. For those that don't like silver, snag on you!

I saw a black Vette (in traffic) the other day and had to look twice because it wasn't instantaneously recognizable to me as a Corvette. That's when I realized black can act as a camouflage; good or bad. I think it's true as one posted here on this thread, that silver shows the lines on a car best. The latest color I've seen on a car that I hate was on a new Camaro - a shade of bright green that actually made me feel ill as I approached it sitting on a dealer's lot. I turned around and looked anywhere but in the direction of that green Camaro. :U |
Black!!
|
I was thinking about it a little more, since it's such a monumental topic , and I reconsidered white. I mean, I don't hate white but to me at least they look best in a tropic area. Around where I live in the Midwest, a white vette looks so-so but I see member pics from Florida, SoCAL, Hawaii, etc and they look great. Especially a white vert with red interior - classic! You just have to park it next to a palm tree.

How the heck did he get it that high? WOW:lol::lol: |
I've liked every color the the C6 line has offered thus far, even Carlisle Blue...:yesnod:
I agree with the comments about that disgusting green that comes on the Camaro...:ack: I've had: Le Mans Blue (C5) Velocity Yellow (C6Z) and Arctic White (C6ZR)...:D |
med & Light color BLUE vettes
|
I would absolutely have a black vette if I had a resident detailer on retainer. I used to detail and had enough time fighting with other people's black cars to vow that I'd never own one.
That said, I've liked every color that's ever been offered on the C6 except for Carlisle Blue and Torch and Victory reds (and I don't hate the reds, I just wouldn't own one). Speaking about all cars in general, this would have to be the car that repulses me the MOST.... http://www.carsx.net/wp-content/uplo...ta-Camry-3.jpg A beige Toyota Camry is (in my opinion) the MOST boring, soulless car you could possibly drive... |
Black!!!
|
GM had a color about 10 years ago that was EXACTLY the same color of that semi-solid waste found in an infant's diaper. Dang, I wish I knew the name of that color . . .
|
Silver and Gray, boring boring boring!
|
I don't "hate" any color.
But my neighbor as a brown truck. I call it "bird drop brown". Ugly! |
Dislike the Carlisle blue, the darker red color...but most colors work on the Vette.
|
Carlisle blue is gay, next is gray

As for me: most hated colors = carlisle blue (were they kidding?) and black (looks cool but requires far too much maintenance to look good.)
Favorite colors = crystal red metallic (current vert) and cyber gray. (Also, I am a closet yellow fan - will never own one but I like it) |
