Lots of New Mods, Lots of Pics and Lots of Thanks!!!

I've been really busy over the past three years in personalizing my C5 convertible. It started with a complete HID/LED exterior lighting conversion in 2010. I then overhauled the interior in 2011. In 2012 my focus was on the exterior and some additional performance improvements.

I believe that every good plan has to have an end goal in mind so with the installation of my new CCW wheels a few weeks ago, I have completed all of the mods I set out to accomplish. I'm sure I will continue to tweak the car as long as I own it, however at this point, I consider myself 99% done and now just plan to drive it, enjoy it and re-distribute my "mod money" into the "buy a C6/C7 Z06 stablemate fund". :woohoo:

Edit - I am planning one more mod and that is a new camera!

In addition to the mods shown below, I installed a set of Koni FSD shocks, Z06 sway bars, a Corsa X-pipe, RAAM Audio sound/heat insulation kit and an Elite Engineering thermal tunnel plate all topped off with a Chuck/C.O.W. tune.

The Forum vendors are well represented on this car and I would like to thank them for providing quality products and services. Those vendors include;

- Double D Mods

- JW Motoring

Thanks for all the comments guys. I appreciate it.

I can't stress enough how helpful this forum has been over the past few years. I tried to perform the installation on most of the mods and occassionaly ran into various technical/installation issues. I would be working the mod, run into a problem, post the question on the forum and take a 30-minute break (usually with an ice cold garage beer). I would then check the thread and would have 4-5 answers or suggestions.

After buying the car new off the dealer lot the summer of 2004, I kept it pretty much stock the first two years of ownership and that's when I discovered Corvette Forum and realized there were a lot of other people who really like Corvettes.

Then look what happened!

Thanks. Medium Spiral Gray Metallic is a tricky color. At times, the paint sparkles due to the metallic flake, however sometimes it also can look very dark. I had a set of Ace Slick Hyperblack wheels mounted before my CCW polished wheels and noticed that at some angles the wheels also looked very dark and did not help the look. My original polished 5-spoke wheels had a nice "pop" to them against the MSG paint, so that's another reason I went with the CCW polished wheels.

I think the black or gunmetal wheels work better with the brighter colors like yellow, red and blue.

Al, your car is defiantly 1 of my 3 favorites on this forum:thumbs:

Your decklid and lower front nose is really sharp too. I am waiting to receive my Carraviggio spoiler and hood any day now!

Here is a few more pics of painted waterfall and decklid, Someone in an earlier post was looking for more pics, Not hijacking, just helping out!

Now all tou need is 700+hp and your set Al:thumbs:

Carravaggio Spoiler?! You really need to start coming up with some original ideas and stop copying everybody else!

Thanks for the extra pictures. I need to take some more shots at those angles. The black really pops against your yellow. I know you can't really see it in my pictures, however the black I used is actually a metallic flake that matches up to the MSG flake.

I would love me some 700+ HP, however I am not going to chase the HP Gods on the C5. When the time comes, I hope to get to 700+ HP in a Z06 whether it in the C6 flavor or C7 flavor. I just don't want to trade in the C5 vert for it. They don't make cars that look as good as the C5 anymore so I want the best of both worlds!

Awesome mods. Tastefully done, like many have mentioned.

Where did you get the seats and roll hoops from? How much did that set you back?

So tell me again how you got into STOCK class at the Pier show. LOL!!!

Man, was that some unnecessary drama or what?! I've registered for only two shows in my life. The first one was about 4 years ago and you had to register in order to get in and look at the other cars. At the time my car was basically all stock, minus the seat hoops and ACE Slick wheels and wasn't even detailed that day. The second show was the Pier show with the mods displayed. The guy next to me was crying and wouldn't even talk to me the rest of the show. :crazy2:

Thanks. I got the chrome seat hoops from West Coast Corvettes. I liked that they had a larger diameter than most of the other hoops. Tricky installation as you have to be careful not to damage the gas tanks or the carbon cannister. Below is the link:

http://www.westcoastcorvette.com/p-8...04-c5-z06.aspx

I got the seats and matching shift knob/boot, e-brake handle/boot, center console lid and sunvisors from Vette Essentials. They also supplied the matching gray leather for the D-style steering wheel from DSV. Their seat covers are pricier than some other vendors, however after seeing a full Vette Essentials interior in an anniversary coupe at a show a few years ago I was sold on their quality. Below is the link:

I took a couple more pics today showing the decklid/waterfall paint work or "The Blitzkrieg Mod". :yesnod: It doesn't have an as dramatic pop effect like it does against his Millenium Yellow, however it helps to blend in the black interior IMO.
