Ive been researching the same thing. Been reading all the tests, surveys, comparisons, etc. on the tirerack site. after reading everything i could find I am going to go with the Kumho Ecsta MX in a non run flat. 50-150 cheaper per tire than the big names but right there with the F1 supercar tires for dry grip , much better in the wet, quiter, and longer lasting tread life. go to the tirerack site and compare the max performance tires. You will get pretty much all the info you need to try and pick what is best for the kind of driving you do. There are about 50 corvette owner surveys on these tires plus all the specs and tests from the tirerack. There are better tires for track only, or wet handling, price only, but for all around do it all ( track, street, wet, dry, & price) the Kumhos look hard to beat.

Recently had Kumho ECSTA MX Run Flats installed for less than $1000.
They compare very well to my last 2 sets which were Firestones and Goodyears. I got about 40,000 miles on Firestones.

How long are you going to drive over 168 mph?

shurite44 03-04-2005 10:10 PM

Dunlop 9000s are pretty good tires for the money. The last time I priced them it was 650 for all four shipped. Sizes are slightly different I believe, I think you have to go with a 285 255

Kumho MX with all the little partridges...
