was the 68 cordovan maroon and the 69 burgandy color the same?
 

I always couldn't tell the difference but assumed they were a bit different but I was looking online and the 68 color was like I said call cordovan maroon and in 69 it was called burgandy but both codes on this site I was at said both cordovan and the burgandy color code is 988 so I assume they're the exact same color right?

just curious as my dad has a 68 maroon and I know a guy with a 69 burgandy

Looking at the www.autocolorlibrary.com samples it is hard to tell the difference. The Corvette paint codes (988) are the same but the PPG paint ID numbers are different. I can't say I have compared original paint on cars side by side but, I'm going to go with them being different due to the PPG paint codes not the same.
68 = 988 = 50775
69 = 988 = 50700
