I'm afraid to say much here. There are few things that make the Vette guys more emotional than their wax/polish.

Just be aware there ARE other products out there -- you'd never know it from this board. I haven't tried zaino , so I'm not bashing it at all, but it is a very long process of application, at least the first time. I guess you knew that. I'm sure you'll read for hours on this topic if you do a search.

I think my ride looks pretty sweet even though I'm apparently the only man on earth who doesn't use the stuff. And God has not struck me down with a lightning bolt either. ....yet

Turtle wax..dont get in the hype of Draino, I mean Zaino..It is a $$$$$ maker.

CRABBYJ 04-09-2005 08:18 AM

Other Products?

I'm sure there are other, very good products out there to try. But I went with Zaino. The first application (2 Dawn washes, etc) does take time, but gave me the excuse to be close to my C6 that much longer. Now that the first coat is applied, it will be a total commitment and I ain't going to a different product. I'm sold, the car looks great, with just 1 coat! Time for a cigarette, then....... Please let me do it again. :flag:

Rejex. Not more Zaino for me. Only Rejex. One step, one product, incredible deep shine, lasts 6 months or more, and all dirt and grime and bugs and tar wash off so easy. The protection it provides is awesome, without all that Z-1,Z-02,Z-3,Z-5,Z-8,Z-9 confusion. Try it.

Zaino and Klasse AIO are the two best of all..

No. Kit Carnauba "Gold" is what I use. There are no abrasives, no petroleum base, very very easy to use, and not boutique expensive. This only if the car is new and in great condition, if not there are plenty of ways to bring the finish back to new condition, with 3M products.

:iagree: I never have used it either. I much prefer driving to polishing mine.

Pinnacle Souveran for my C6.

No it isn't, but it's the best polish out there.

Like bugman and 2bubbas...

I too have never used Zaino. However, I have never had the ability to purchase a brand new vette...if that would make a difference. All three I've owned have been slightly used C4s. On that C4 forum, a member touted NTX made by Meguires. At the time, I was using a product called Liquid Gold. I was in the process of selling my '96 to a member in Massachusettes (so I would have the money to order my 2006), but decided to try NTX. I put on one coat. I got an email the other day from the buyer, asking what kind of wax I'd used. He has owned many Vettes over the years and I guess tried numerous products. His email basically read " I know you were nice enough to detail the car for me, but like getting any new toy, I expected to have to go over the thing myself to get it to my level of perfection. However, when I washed it, I noticed that the water droplets beaded up like after using RainX on a windshield - so I decided not to touch it, but ask what it is so I can use it".
I think, the most important thing is the process. That is why Zaino goes into great detail about all the necessary steps to get to a "showroom shine". Having said that, I'm not saying all products are the same. I'm sure Zaino is excellent, but if you were to: Dawn, then clay bar, then NTX, 100% USA terry cloth etc.? The other thing is NTX is available at Wal Mart for about $15.
Why not give it a try on another car and see what you think, it too was an easy product to use. Hope this 2 cents of mine helps you and others.

Adam's Polishes - Butter Wax

JR_C6 04-09-2005 10:37 AM

I've used Zaino and many others - Pinnacle, NXT, Menzerna, Klasse, Blackfire and probably several others. Have to tell ya, they ALL work very well. My favorite is Menzera FMJ with a coat of Pinnacle Souveran on top (if I'm bored!) It's easy and looks wet and very deep.

You may want to go to http://autopia.org/forums/ and do some research. Very good site.

Good luck!

Zaino is not a wax , but a family of synthetix polymer sealant products.
It is allegedly one of the better of these offerings and it certainly has its fanatic followers .."Zaino Zealots"

There are others . I prefer Rejex. It is cheaper, easier (one step), gives me the depth of color, wet look , and is very durable. Is it better that Zaino, no one can say for sure....

Just remember it is almost impossible to compare different products applied to different cars and used in different locals.

Pick one and try it, and then another and another until you find the one that works best for you

Although other's swear by other products, in my personal oppinion the Zaino line is one of the best on the market today. I've tried many of the others, but none have given ME the shine Zaino does, nor do they last as long ...

No insane-o for me either. Tried it and hated it. After two months of multiple coats, I ended up giving the rest away. You could not give me a truckload of the stuff. I recently bought my first Mothers product EVER and really liked Mothers Reflections. I would rate it better than Liquid Glass and Meguiar's NXT both worthy on any car care shelf. Reflections has some mild cleaners in it to remove contaminants and old wax. I rated it a 10 on a scale of one to ten. It could easily win a car show all by itself.

The differevce between Zaino and everything else!

With Zaino you want to put on another coat, everything else you have to!

Scuba Ghost 04-09-2005 03:54 PM

I have never been disappointed with ANY Meguiar's products. Love the NXT line.

With a good product (and there are many), you don't need to put on more than one coat.

Besides, even when I used Zaino, I never WANTED to put on another coat! I'd rather be driving!
