How hard is it to change the calipers? Any special tools? Do you need to bleed the brakes?

JyymBo 06-07-2005 12:40 PM

When I painted my calipers I removed them from the rotors and hung them in the wheel well and spray painted them. I didn't remove the brake lines so didn't need to bleed the system.

Offshore says he bought the WCC powder coated calipers, so he had to take the caliper off the rotor, remove the brake line, attach the brake line to the new caliper, remount the new caliper, then bleed the brake system.

No "special" tools required, just the wrenches you need to remove and replace components, which isn't hard at all.

The main PITA if this is a DIY project is bleeding the brakes. Even that isn't bad if you have someone to pump the brakes, or if you have a Mityvac or Motive Power bleeder.

Considering the same set-up, but have one question - does it squeek!

Thanks

Nope!!! I have no brake squeal with the Baer Eradispeed rotors. I have the stock pads up front and Hawk street pads in the rear.

I think it's a great setup.
