Good advise and Hello

Thanks guys for your advise, and hello to all the forum members. Sorry I didn't introduce myself before, I'm a rookie! As I said earlier I new to the Corvette hobby, I'm also new to the club/ forum thing also. Just bought my first vette, man did I start off with a PERFECT 71 coupe!!!Since I was about 10 years old and my uncle took me for a ride in his blue BB 69 coupe and thru me into the seat I've been dreaming of owning my own. Finally after being turned down for a car loan or two years ago I saved up the dough!Once back in 91 a salesman said" I guess it's to much of a car for you". Boy did that piss me off, but made me save even harder! I'd like to show that SOB this one!
I never heard any rule that said you can't own more than one vette, I,m looking for one of each! HA HA (C 3 only of course)
Back to the 70 coupe, to you 70 lovers the car did run sweet! Started right up after sitting for months. I did check as best as possible for rust, the frame looked fine and solid. However I did notice some rust at the bottom passenger side windshied post. Also there was undercoating heavy at each wheel well, under hood, rear muffler area, trying to hide something? The fact that the car was hit scares the H out of me, can you really competely repair a vette? I don't know how did the repair!
The owner thinks its worth somewhere between 20 to 25k, I think more like 18. I didn't get a chance to drive the car, also the owner is sending me a copy of the dealer invoice, so I'll be able to verify more numbers and check all options. As far as compairing previous sales it's hard because no one admits to there car was a hit car.Just as one member said the car's worth as much as the guy next to you will pay.
I think I take a deep breath, come down from the excitement of the treasure hunt, and think about this a little more clearly. There is also someone else looking to buy this car, according to the owner???
Again thank all of you for your help kdg

so.. is it a 71 or a 70 coupe?

By the way.. there's always someone looking to buy a chrome bumper C3 - I stole mine right under some poor guy in Texas (about 1 hour before he was supposed to see the seller)
