Starter wiring diagram
 

I have a '79 Corvette with a L-48 and I was wanting to look at a wiring diagram for the starter. However, I'm unable to locate one anywhere. Help please!!!

I had the starter off the other day and did a complete rebuild, but now something appears to be draining my battery. Just wanna make sure I've got it correct at the starter since I did have that off.

The purple wire goes on the inside small terminal. Any small pink wires go on the outside terminal, and any large terminal wires go on the large lug on the solinoid. Except, there is a black wire that is a ground and goes under the starter mounting bolt. This is the ground for the heater fan and wipers. Many times people mistakenly hook this to the solinoid and cause the drain that you refer to.

I had the same problem. My wipers and defoster wouldn't work,
when we replaced the engine, the ground wire was connected to
the starer solenoid. My battery would drain.
