How I can make the C6 fast as the C6 Z06 ?
 

Hi all, thinking of buying a C6 drove the car i liked it , but its not fast as the supra that i have..,

Just want to know what Mods i need to make the C6 fast as the C6 Z06 ? is it easy?
how much it may cost me ? Am I gona spend in the C6 as much buying a Z06 ?

In a straight line? A blower kit will do that for roughly 6k + labor. Around a track?..... It would be more worth it to buy the Z06.

Just about any good H/C package will put you at the same power as the Z06. 440rwhp

6-7K+install will get you 100-130HP. Nice think about the ProCharger is that it has a centrifical clutch on the business end that is not in use unless you get above 3-4K RPM. That means No cam lope, no blower noise at idle, and same gas mileage you're getting now, unless you stand on it frequently. :cheers:

8K at just about any forum tuner can get that power from the 6 liter.

Well lets see, no GM warranty anymore and reliability is in question. Makes the 8K look like chump change in comparison.

Nothing against a Z06, but for about 8.5 K you could get a 605 bhp automatic with a procharger and a conservative tune. The stick shifts were getting 650 bhp. I’m sure around a track the Z06 is a more stable car and maybe a little faster, but from a daily driver point of view, the interstate is where it counts. :rofl:

Cartek, LPE,....all sell warranties...so lets say 8500. The engine doesn't void the other parts of the warranty but then again for the difference in the price, you can buy a whole new whatever breaks. I have been back to the dealer with all of my mods and they still fixed the heated seat, the rear truck release button, and my stereo. They can clearly see I have headers, air cleaner, and the FAST intake. My warranty was not voided even in view of me discussing the other engine mods: 1.8's heads...ect.

Also many dealers such as the one I got my C6 from installs the mods for these cars and still maintains your warranty if they did the work. That includes superchargers. Maybe you just need to find a better dealer.

Still can't figure you out...sometimes you seem like a nice guy and sometimes you just like to throw a wrench in. You could have also said, "You may wish to also take into account the warranty issue..." but you seem to like the rub it in/Condescending: well lets see....rip into the opinion...

The guy asked what could be done to make a C6 as fast as a Z06. He didnt ask about warranties. If you whine about such stuff, buy a Z06 if you can find one under 80k.

As far as reliability, I have 30k miles on my C5 with everything done and I have yet to fix so much as a light bulb.

It is as easy as writing a check to www.callawaycars.com and waiting 2-4 weeks for your car :thumbs:

Their C6 is currently the fastest in the World - have not seen any timeslips faster than their 10.7@128

p.s. the above about warranties and items like a broken radio, seat, etc are true - they (GM) will fix it still even w/ a modded car - SEMA has a website that can assist w/ those types of questions :flag:

Get a couple of JATO units military surplus. Mount them in the rear compartment and wire their ignitors to the hatch release button. When you want to pass that Supra, just press the hatch release and hold on. :rofl: :rofl:

Sell another warranty, sure why not, I think he wanted to know the cost. You start breaking drive trains and of course you go and whine to the dealer and try and get it fixed for free. All I did was point out that there are other things to concider. Do you think for a minute the after market guys will cover what breaks as a result of the mod, no frikken way. Do you think that the owner will fork up 5 grand for a new transmission or drive train, no way. You all whine to the dealer.

...interesting approach however, the cost of heat wrap and protectants for the paint may in the long run, cost more than the car itself :crazy:

Getting the horsepower, and getting it with a "reasonable" degree of reliability is available, and would likely cost around $6,000 - 8,000. MTI, Lingenfelter and Cartek are well know and pretty reliable shops. My advice would be to buy one of their "standard" packages to get the best reliability.

Getting the power to the ground is a consideration. Figure another $1,000 to have the car "tubbed" for wider tires, and another $4,000 for wheels and tires that make a complete package with wide enough tires to put the power down the way a Z06 can. Don't forget hardened output shafts - the stock shafts are known to be a little weak for aftermarket power.
