Ordering Yank SS3200 converter...is their heavy-duty driveplate necessary?

I'll be ordering a Yank SS3200 torque converter and was wondering if it was wise/necessary to order their heavy-duty driveplate ($159) when I do that. Is that a nesessary component? Is the stock unit not very good? I have a heads/cam car with 3.15 gears. Thanks for any feedback and thoughts on this.

I've had four different Yank converters in two different cars now and never used anything but the existing stock flexplates with them.

Thanks, guys. Guess I'll save myself $159. I can buy my ported throttle body with that.

It's nice if you have a 6-lug converter.
