lowered or not
I bought my 2000 c5 in june-2005. I have always thought vette were low to the ground period. If i didnt know i was getting in a vette id think i was falling to the ground. My question is how can i tell if my vette has been lowered or not. I read about lowered vettes here and all. I look at my wheel wells and say how the hell can this be lowered with no space for lowering. I cant even shine the top edge of my front tires with out rolling car. How do you actually tell if a vette has been lowered. What is normal ride height with gy-emts 17/18.

Yours sounds lowered to me. Since you have to move the car to shine your tires. A stock height vette you can see over the tires by the fender wells.

easiest way would be to post a pic here and let us judge.
if you want to know for sure you need to get the car off the ground and look at the lowering bolts on each side of the front and rear leaf spring. here is an example of the rear lowering bolt in the middle of the pic. the car has been lowered if there are only one or two threads showing on the bolt. the bolt in the pic has not been lowered yet. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...s/rearbolt.jpg |
Or
They look like this.

If yours doesn't look like a 4X4 on top or the wheel wells then I'll bet your lowered!

Lowered?
I have measured three stock height late model C5's They sit about 28 1/2-29" from ground to top of fender opening in rear and 27-27 1/2" at the front. Hope this helps.

Your's sure sounds lowered to me. On mine, which is not lowered, I have no problem getting my hands in between the tires and the fender edge.

Look underneath, if it’s all scraped up, it’s lowered
