The Grond Chronicles : ECS work their Magic.... [dialup, take a nap]

As you all know (unless you have been under a rock for the past month :D ), I took Grond down to Chris & Doug of East Coast Supercharging for them to work some drivetrain magic on the Hammer of the Underworld.

Well, I just got home after a 4 hour drive back from ECS - and let me tell you - I am spellbound!!!!! This has got to be one of the best mods I have done to date.

Complete night and day difference. Kudos to ECS and especially to Mark for his outstanding work :thumbs:

So for those that have been under a rock, this is what I had the necromancers at ECS do for me :
  • A Rodney (Crashed 94) RPM Transmissions full race 4L60E automatic
  • Yank SS3600 stall converter
  • ARP bolts
  • ECS custom 3.90:1 gears in a new Z06 carrier
  • Hardened shaft
  • DTE transmission brace (in red)
  • LGM Aluminum torque tube coupler
  • High flow transmission cooler with thermostat and fan
  • ECS custom line lock :D

Here are the pics :

So, did you like win the lottery or something lately? You've been moding your 'vette like they are going to stop making aftermarket parts for them soon. :willy:

Cool pics

YELLOHHH 11-16-2005 01:09 AM

Did you win a lottery recently? You've been spending more money than a drunken sailor in a half price whore house!

Love it! Keep up the good work!!

I can NOT believe we almost said the same thing at the same time. I did not see the above post when I wrote mine. That's too funny. Depraved minds think alike...

EG@EnglandGreen 11-16-2005 01:11 AM

Hey, I'm just trying to keep up with the Orlando Crew and the NY/NJ Gang. I'm still about 100rwhp shy of all of them :willy:

SteveDoten 11-16-2005 01:22 AM

3.90's w/ a 3600 t/c can't work on the street? ears still ringing a bit, other than that no probs; coilovers and rear fender liners is another story after I-95 and the GW bridge......

MyVetteDream 11-16-2005 01:26 AM

That's a nice cappuccino maker you got there

Best of luck Stephen!

 Yes, we lost the passenger side rear wheel liner somewhere on I-95 just shy of the CT border. Coilovers rock - but need to be adjusted upwards another 1/2 inch to prevent a repeat performance :D

Hey EG,

I always find your posts interesting and enjoyable but I now have a question for you. How long will these parts last, you are an addmitted mod-aholic who will mod your mods (I think your last stereo only lasted a few months) any chance of that happening here? Glad to hear that you are happy with the reaults

I will not be changing these parts. They can withstand 1000+rwhp :willy:

ONealLaw 11-16-2005 03:54 AM

Hey Stephen, you are looking good, those are some awesome mods you got there. That is a rock solid drivetrain you have put together. You are now ready to stack whatever you want under the hood not have to worry about the drivetrain. Great Job and smart move on the way you are building GROND. Good luck to you!  Silas

Looks awesome Stephen! I was just down at ECS for the first time on friday, I'm sorry I missed ya! As for the guys, they are awesome and I will never go to anyone else but them (it was worth the 3hr drive).

That red DTE transmission brace must be good for a least 7 rwhp right?
