Zinc Plating vs High temp spray on Brake Rotors

What do you guys think about this topic

I have 4 rotors that are not zinc plated. I was able to purchase Zinc in a can and spray the vents as well as the back side of the rotors. What is not protected now are the hats. I thought about using VHT Flame proof Clear on the hats from a post that I saw here on the forum.
Will this work or is it better to just have the zinc plated professionally?
I icalled a shop and he said it would be $50 and asked if I wanted clear or yellow? Which route do you feel is the best and will look the best.
I have masked of the area where the pads meet the rotors. Will a plating change the color of the rotor? Any comments welcome.

What kind of rotor's are these? and what are you doing with them ?Race , track .drag , street? If you just looking for basic every day rotors for a weekend warroir go up to ebay and take a look for $200 or so you can get some already zinc coated . But clear vht paint works too, as long as you dont use hard chem. on them to clean, like say brake clean . It will eat the paint off.And yes the zinc will change the color to whatever its plated, ie black, gold, silver, even saw pink and purple before :( but where ever the pad hit it will just turn shiny silver  I always do silver zinc then paint the hat black with vht

Clear zinc plating would be a good choice. Better than paint IMHO. Don't bother masking the brake pad area - a couple weeks on normal driving (or one track day) and the plating will be gone. I had mine bright cadnium plated but I'll go with zinc the next time. $50 is a fair price for all 4 rotors.
